We did everything we could to accommodate you. We agreed to allow you to bring four dogs (our normal limit is two). The week before your arrival,you requested to reduce your stay by one night and we agreed to a refund. You asked to check in early and we arranged an early check in. We are sorry you were sick on your vacation and left two days early. We didn’t think another refund was appropriate. We didn’t say anything about the condition you left the house in since you were sick. You are the first to complain about the couch or bed. We will check on them this month.

We are sorry the guest felt the neighbors homes were too close. This is the first time in15 years we have had this comment. Our Vrbo site has over 40 pictures of our house and grounds which includes pictures of the neighboring homes. The houses around our lake all located on multi acre lots .

We are sorry the guest thought our VRBO add “was a little deceiving. The house was not on a lake but a 4 1/2 acre pond.” The second sentence of the VRBO description says “Blue Ridge Lake is on a private spring fed, four and a half acre lake…”. All of the government maps of the area identify the body of water our house is on as “Blueridge Lake”. The size and description on VRBO are accurate and not deceptive. The strange smell the guest noted (but not reported to us) was caused by a tripped ground fault interrupter for the dehumidifier in the crawl space. We call our guest on arrival and ask if they have any questions. We ask them to contact us by phone,email or text if they need anything. Our handy man lives five minutes from our house. If we had been alerted to the smell issue our handyman would have been able to address the issue.
