Perfect place for our weekend getaway!

The Farmhouse is beautifully decorated with an ecclectic mix of new and old pieces, perfectly mirroring the modern updates. It was the perfect relaxing atmosphere for our women's weekend! The hosts were very gracious and accommodating.

A peaceful retreat

Our group of three loved our stay at the Artist's Farmhouse. The spacious patio was a perfect place to enjoy morning coffee and listen to the birds. The house was clean and well-equipped, especially the kitchen - which has simply gorgeous pottery plates and mugs. We hope to return next year.

This was our second stay at the Farmhouse and we look forward to returning to this beautiful, thoughtfully designed, well-equipped and well-maintained house in one of the dreamiest landscapes we've ever seen. All three generations of our family, from 2- 75, loved visiting here and can't wait to come back.

Great property, superbly designed and executed. The only recommendation is sun block screens on the first floor bedroom for those having trouble getting up stairs.

Quiet retreat

Beautiful old farmhouse which has been upgraded by owners who are accomplished artists. Chris gave us a tour of his studio and kilns. Warning: parking at local beaches is $40/day for non-residents!

This property is just wonderful! Set among peaceful farm fields and woodlands, the house is clean and well-organized with lovely original artwork by the two owners, both of them distinguished original artists. Their studios are next door, and the big, three-chambered wood-fired kiln on their property has for 30 years been an inspiring site for an extended community of ceramic artists. We happened to be present for an unloading of works, which was fascinating. The whole place is delightfully quiet, if you're visiting from a city. You'll hear bird calls in the morning, perhaps an owl in the woods, and that's about it. There's a great variety of indoor and outdoor spaces for tenants to spread out in. Everything is really well-designed, but nothing is fussy. You can feel yourself relaxing after five minutes. You're near some little towns with great stores and restaurants, but just far enough away to feel at peace. The owners are very responsive and friendly... you couldn't find a nicer arrangement. Most highly recommended!

What a Lovely Spot!

We had such a relaxing stay at this lovely farmhouse, set in a quiet location back from the road, and minutes from the beach. The house is up-to-date and charmingly decorated, with a kitchen equipped with everything needed to prepare a full meal. The patio, deck, and outdoor shower were perfect for after-beach hanging out. Chris and Nancy were very friendly and helpful. Lots of things to do and see in the area — plus fresh produce to be had a the farm stands all about. We will be back!

Everything and more

I wish we had booked a longer stay so we could have an enjoyed an evening on the patio with the grill and firepit! The house was impeccably clean and thoughtfully furnished with everything we needed during our stay; including a fun and eclectic CD collection. Centrally located, the house offers easy access to Padanaram, Westport and Tiverton. Thank you, Chris!

Lovely Retreat

A lovely stay with dear friends (scattered around the US and world) from our Antioch Art Dept days in the 70’s. Our second stay in this delightful place. As we are still all artists of various media (written word, film, visual) the artistic, rich details of this well-appointed house were admired & much appreciated. Lovely grounds, landscaping outdoor patio etc. Great communication with the host. Thank you Chris! With warm gratitude- Linda and crew.

Wonderful

This restful, lovely artists' house could not have been more perfect for our family of four. The space is ample and well arranged for privacy. The house is nicely sited, and furnished and maintained with care, taste and affection. We loved being surrounded by Chris and Nancy's curated collection of art, ceramics and textiles. The ceiling fans, AC, chef's kitchen, indoor-outdoor deck, firepit, generous deck and shaded outdoor eating area were also much appreciated. Nearby hikes were lovely. We came away refreshed and relaxed, and looking forward to our next visit.

Wonderful 4 BR 2 Bath Farmhouse in a Peaceful setting

We loved this home!. Quiet! Quiet Quiet! It was spacious with 3 bedrooms upstairs and 1 bedroom downstairs with 2 full baths and large stand up showers. The mattresses were firm and making for a comfortable nights sleep. Lots of space to store your clothes. Chris was a gracious host!. He is a well-known ceramic artist. All the tile work in the home was made in his art studio which is situated on the property. The kitchen is spacious with modern appliances and a gas stove. The best part for my daughter was the fire pit behind the home and a spacious deck which made for a nice cookout and s'mores. Chris also gave us a personal tour of his Art studio and his outdoor wood fired Kiln. Although the house is air conditioned, we kept the windows open and enjoyed a cooling breeze. Also,the WIFI is superfast! It is perfectly located in the farm area of Dartmouth and is close to Westport. The home is equidistant from Dartmouth mall, Horseneck Beach and downtown Westport. I would highly recommend renting this property!

Farmhouse/ceramic arts gallery in the country

This is a tastefully renovated and modernized old farmhouse near Demarest Lloyd and Horseneck beaches and coastal nature preserves. The former farm sheds have been made into a ceramic arts studio and display gallery by the hosts. The location is certainly rural -- a herd of deer were nibbling the foliage one morning outside the living-room window. The house is spacious, clean and comfortable, the only downside being that it presents challenges to persons with limited mobility (steep spiral stairs to upper level and some step-ups or step-downs between rooms. Fortunately, one bedroom is on the main floor level.

I stayed here last week and overall had a positive experience. However I was charged $200 extra for having 6 people total. The listing says $50 per extra person per night but it also says it sleeps 8. I’m still unclear why I was charged. If it’s possible to get this back that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! This place is beautiful!

My friend and I rented this to get away for a long weekend to play guitars and hang out. The house could not have been more ideal for that. The patio is awesome with the fire ring and beautiful gardens and surroundings. The kitchen was a great place to cook, and the entire house id just beautifully furnished with great artwork and ceramics everywhere. We had a great time and I defitnitely would want to go back.
