The William Andrew Way House, ca. 1872, è una delle più antiche case rimaste nell'incantevole villaggio di Marshallberg, nella Carolina del Nord. Marshallberg è una delle 13 comunità del Down East sulla Crystal Coast della Carolina del Nord. Marshallberg è vicino al Cape Lookout National Seashore e fa parte del North Carolina Outer Banks Scenic Byway. La Way House è stata completamente rimodellata e modernizzata nel 2012.

La cucina è ben attrezzata dal proprietario che ama cucinare. Ha un fornello a gas e lavastoviglie, un banco isola con sgabelli e un tavolo in legno su misura che può ospitare 10 (ed è ottimo per lavorare su puzzle).

La camera da letto principale ha un letto matrimoniale e una porta privata in bagno.
La seconda camera ha un letto matrimoniale e un letto singolo.
La biblioteca ha un nuovo divano Ikea che si piega in un letto singolo.
La biblioteca ha un lettore TV intelligente, DVD e Blue Ray. Ci sono anche libri e puzzle e attrezzature per lo yoga.

La casa Way ha un portico privato schermato dalla cucina circondata da uno spazio verde pieno di uccelli con un tavolo e sedie per mangiare all'aperto e la casa viene fornita con un gas Bar-B-Q.

La posizione è molto tranquilla. C'è un molo pubblico al largo di Center Street che si affaccia su Core Banks attraverso Core Sound. Il parco alla fine di Marshallberg Road è il posto preferito per ammirare il tramonto. Accanto al parco un piccolo porto ospita sia imbarcazioni da diporto che da lavoro. Il villaggio offre interessanti passeggiate e gite in bicicletta; due biciclette sono incluse con il noleggio.

Marshallberg è a breve distanza in auto dal traghetto Harkers Island a Cape Lookout National Seashore, l'Harkers Island Waterfowl Museum, il traghetto Cedar Island per Ocracoke, incantevole Beaufort NC, Atlantic Beach, escursioni nella Croatan National Forest, storico Fort Macon State Park, storico New Berna e altre storiche città costiere della Carolina del Nord.

Another Wonderful Week in Way House

We have been fortunate to stay in this beautiful, historic home several times over the past few years. It has become our "home away from home" in the Beaufort area. It's a beautiful, spacious, and comfortable house that perfectly fits our needs! The hosts are fantastic-- always very responsive and helpful.

Quiet Retreat

Beautifully restored home in a very quiet neighborhood. Short drives to Beaufort, Atlantic Beach and Moorehead City. Plenty of places for kayaking and fishing nearby. We had a great time exploring the area and coming back to a beautiful home and grounds.

Lovely Historic Home in Marshallberg

This was the third time we stayed for a week in Way House, which has become a "home away from home" for us in the Beaufort area. It is a beautiful, historic home in a peaceful setting with all the modern amenities.

Family Vacation

We were extremely pleased with the property, both the house itself and the grounds. The circle drive was an added bonus especially with a 24 ft. boat in tow. The house was neat, clean and absolutely beautiful. The location was great with a public boat ramp within a short distance away. Our family had a wonderful week visiting Cape Lookout, seeing the wild horses on Shackleford Banks, NC Aquarium as well as Carteret Historical Museum, Fort Macon and the Maritime Museum.

Honeymoon getaway

This was a fantastic get away for our honeymoon. Quiet area very clean and comfortable house. Centrally located in the outer banks to most everything. Will recommend to everyone!!!! 5 stars

Lovely, charming stay at Way House

Very well maintained property. Lovely and charming. Peaceful and quiet. Well appointed kitchen. Easy communications and instructions for house wifi and air-conditioning. Recommend! Just know that there is not much around in terms of grocery, gas, food options. Do go to Beaufort and travel around!

Cute farmhouse away from the bustle of the main beaches

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at this cute renovated little farmhouse. It was very clean on the inside and comfortable. The neighborhood is fairly quiet and about half hour away from various activities like access to the ferries, beaches and shops. The only reason we give a four-star to the check-in process is because of our little snafu with the keys. Thanks to very helpful neighbors who helped us get in contact with the owners who live in Canada, we were able to resolve the issue. We would definitely recommend this house for couples and small families. The beaches in the area are absolutely beautiful for the North Atlantic. We highly recommend making use of the various ferries, especially to the lighthouse.

Polly Way Stay

Our family of 4 stayed here for 5 nights as we visited Cape Lookout and surrounding areas. It was a nice getaway home, comfortable, quiet, and clean. We enjoyed all of the amenities that were offered to us. The only issue we had was the water was slow to drain down the tub. I would recommend this home and we would use it again.

Great time

My husband and I had a very nice time staying at this quaint little house. It is located in a quiet and walkable neighborhood. We enjoyed the large kitchen, the screened in back porch, and the library/TV room. Nicole and Alan are very gracious and helpful hosts and we are glad they shared their family’s vacation home with us!

The photos are accurate but cannot capture just how lovely and peaceful this house and property are. Beautifully and lovingly maintained, updated, and outfitted for guests, with a great cook's kitchen that is a joy to prepare meals in. Peaceful, comfortable, and great location!

We just finished up a week's vacation at Nicole and Alan's Marshallberg Way House and had a wonderful time. The house is inviting, comfortable, peaceful, extremely clean and well furnished, and felt more like a home than a house, with lots of family photos and artwork. The place has character! Each morning, we took our time and enjoyed observing and listening to all the birds who also make the place their home. There are plenty of bird identification books and even binoculars for birdwatchers. And our two dogs loved the large, private yard. We all also really took to the screened in porch. Each day, we set off for a different adventure, exploring the Down East area of the Crystal coast of NC. We had such a great time. The highlight adventure was taking the ferry out to both Shackleford Banks and Cape Lookout on the same day. We saw the Spanish Mustangs on Shackleford, visited the lighthouse at Cape Lookout, and spent hours on the beach hunting for shells, with great success, I must say. :) Harker's Island was a lot of fun and we really enjoyed the Core Sound Museum as well as visiting some of the locals' decoy workshops. We spent a day over at Morehead City and Atlantic Beach, as our nearly 4 year old daughter is definitely a beach girl, but we highly preferred the greater area surrounding the house. We had many great meals in Beaufort, which is just a 20 minute drive from the house and has plenty of nice restaurants. We definitely took advantage of the area's fantastic seafood. We highly recommend the Way House. Nicole and Alan are welcoming hosts and will quickly answer any questions you may have. We look forward to returning and exploring more of the area, including the Cedar Island area, as we ran out of time on this trip. Thanks so much, Nicole and Alan!

Wonderful Down East Retreat

We loved our week-long stay at Way House in Marshallberg! The house is beautiful & comfortable and located in a tranquil setting within a short drive to Beaufort and other area attractions. It was perfect for our needs. Nicole and Alan are excellent hosts--very responsive to our questions. We are looking forward to a return visit!
