I DINTORNI DELLA COTTAGE
Situato sulle rive del Lago Superiore, il Beachcomber's Cottage è immerso in un ambiente boschivo privato circondato da maestosi pini sussurranti. Solo una breve passeggiata lungo un sentiero di ciottoli conduce ad un ampio tratto di spiaggia di sabbia bianca di zucchero.

Per le tue vacanze estive, è il posto giusto per rilassarti sulla sedia a sdraio, fare una nuotata rinvigorente o passeggiare lungo la spiaggia raccogliendo rocce e legni. Ed è perfetto per una vacanza autunnale, dove i colori dell'autunno sono vibranti e spettacolari, l'aria nitida e chiara.

IL COTTAGE
Il cottage appartato con due camere da letto è progettato con interni in pino e pavimenti in legno. Può ospitare fino a quattro persone.

Affascinante e confortevole, ha tutto il necessario per il tuo soggiorno:
• Una camera da letto con un letto matrimoniale
• Una camera da letto con due letti singoli
• Bagno con box doccia moderno
• Lenzuola e un set di asciugamani per persona forniti

La cucina comprende:

Il Beachcomber's Cottage ti offre una vacanza rilassante per rinfrescare lo spirito e goderti la bellezza dell'Alta Penisola. Convenientemente situato tra Marquette e Munising, il cottage si trova a 15 miglia a est di Marquette sulla panoramica Highway M-28, vicino a ristoranti, negozi e divertimenti, oltre a numerosi campi da golf e un casinò.

E a sole 26 miglia a est del cottage si trova la splendida e selvaggia Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, situata a Munising, dove è possibile fare escursioni sopra le scogliere, andare in kayak lungo il litorale o rilassarsi e godersi lo scenario mozzafiato sulla sempre popolare Pictured Rocks Cruise .

Thank you for your comments! Our cottage is just the right size for a couple or small family like yours. And once you're there, you kick off your shoes and forget to put them back on for the rest of the week as you relax at the beach or in the cottage. Yes, every sunrise and every sunset is spectacular in its own way, with the sun grazing the points of land jutting out into the lake to the east and to the west.

Beautiful stay

The cabin was perfect for us and so clean. The location was perfect. We loved being in the woods and next to Lake Superior. We swam everyday! We went to presque isle and the glass bottom shipwreck tour but mostly stayed home and enjoyed the lake and scenery. Thank you for a great vacation.

Location in the middle of the UP worked well for us. Loved the proximity to the beach, just a short walk. We could hear the waves from the house as the water was a bit rough during our stay. The bathroom is small but that allows you to get in and out quicker :) As others have mentioned, bring your drinking water as there is a sulphur smell. Great communication with the property manager. All in all we had a great week!

I'm happy to hear you enjoyed your stay in our cozy woodland/beachfront cottage, albeit during a week the weatherman decided he would offer-up a variety of weather events. At about 180 feet to the beach along the cobblestone path, it only takes a couple of minutes to get to the shoreline. If there's a storm or it's windy, you will hear the lake from open windows. If it is calm, as on a windless morning when the lake glows like glass, you will hear the lapping of the waves against the shore only if you are there, wading in the shallows.

Relaxing

We had a lovely time. The cottage was well stocked and well cared for. The beachfront and location were gorgeous and peaceful. We really appreciated our week there and hope to visit again next year.

Great location, nice property!

We had such a great time at beachcombers cottage! It was myself, my husband and two kids (15+8). The cottage was just the right size for the four of us. It was clean and comfortable! We loved that it was on the water where we could easily bring our paddle boards down. The cottage had almost everything we needed!

Wonderful place

We lucked out and had perfect weather our entire week! This is our third visit over the last 5 years- Lake Superior was like glass and perfect for Kayaking, swimming and walks on the amazing stretch of beach. This is one of our favorite locations to vacation near Marquette- Lots of activities of hiking, Grand Marais visit and more. Cottage is always comfortable, clean and has everything we need, bonus is that it's close to Marquette.

Lake Superior is a beautiful, awesome lake, especially when it is “like glass.” And the cottage is a perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying the expansive beach as well as a starting point for activities in Marquette and around the U.P.: Dining out, browsing museums, touring Presque Isle, biking, hiking; learning about the history of the region, maritime lore, the mining industry. Lots to do and see, or just kick back at the shore.

Lake Superior beauty

The cottage is so quaint & cozy & peaceful. We watched every sunrise & most sunsets which were spectacular! What a great way to start the day. The stone path down to the beach was very inviting & the walk on the beach was beautiful & relaxing. We really enjoyed our stay...it was exactly what we were looking for! Thank you sooo very very!

End of Summer Vacation

We loved this cottage and it was the perfect end of summer vacation. It was about 15 minutes from town but easy to get. We enjoyed Marquette with lots to do and the slow pace of the city. We spent most of our time on the beach, we did bring paddle boards and sand toys for the kids. We ventured out to Picturing Rocks, Black Rocks, and a few hikes.

Great get away near the lake!

This place is just as wonderful as the pictures indicate. The weather was a bit cold during our stay, so we didn't sit on the back deck or swim in the lake, but we enjoyed walks on the sand and so many wonderful fall colors. The cabin seems to have everything a visitor could want. We had plenty of extra blankets for the cool nights and more than enough dishes to cook a meal . We found the restaurant and tourist information helpful . This place was great for our family of three adults as we visited family in Marquette..

Walks along the Lake Superior shoreline are a treat at any time of the year. I'm glad you found the cottage to be a comfortable "home base" as you explored the Marquette area and visited your family.

Fantastic Location

You can't get a better location. The beach was awesome. The cottage was very clean but, a bit rustic for me. Bring drinking water with you. I always have a air mattress with me wherever I go so, I can't tell you how the beds were. Overall, we had a great experience.

Thank you for your comments! Yes, the cottage is a perfect place for a get-away at the beach. And yes, the cottage is rustic, but complete with all essentials and ultra-comfy beds. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay :)

UP road trip!

My friends and I enjoyed kayaking, waterfalls, and several local restaurants while in Michigan. The Beachcomber's Cottage was nestled just a few cobblestones away from the lake where we were sure to catch almost every sunset each evening, they are breathtaking. The only hiccup we had was on the second day we lost water pressure in the kitchen.

Location, location, location!

Beachcomber's cottage worked perfectly for our family vacation. The cottage was well equipped, and the beach was amazing! Despite higher water levels, the beach was still wide and sandy and allowed for long walks in either direction. The sunset walks were the best. The beach is very private, we only saw one neighbor our whole week. The location is great as well! We made trips to Munising to hike and do all the Pictured Rocks things and to rent an ATV. We also made several trips to Marquette for shopping, meals and sites. Very private location, yet convenient to a lot of the attractions.

Thank you for your review; your details really provide a snapshot of your week at the cottage. The cottage is far away enough from "town" to enjoy the privacy of a vacation at the beach, yet close enough to head out for dinner, shopping, or touring the many sights of the area. And the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is within an easy drive to explore the exceptional beauty of the area. Thanks again!

Beautiful beach retreat. Quiet and relaxing.

We really enjoyed the view, our morning walks on the beach and the surrounding areas for hiking to see waterfalls. The coffee maker unfortunately didn't work so we purchased and donated a new one. I would recommend a new queen mattress as the current one has a lean to the center and is uncomfortable to sleep on. The quiet, relaxing time was well worth the restless sleep.

Comments like yours always help us improve our guests' experience at the cottage, so thanks again. Morning beach walks are always a beautiful way to wake up to the day. Hello! And welcome to the Beachcomber's Cottage! I am a Yooper - an Upper Peninsula native, born and raised in Marquette. My family had the cottage built, and for years we would spend Wednesday evenings and all of our weekends enjoying the peace and serenity of the north woods and the ever-changing moods of Lady Lake Superior. As an adult, with the many responsibilities it brings, my time at the cottage has become limited. While I'm not there, I decided to share the experience with others and make it available to you. Once you arrive you will hear the sounds of breezes in the tall pines, and as you walk down the path to the beach, hear the waves lapping on the sandy shore. Kick off your shoes, take a deep breath, and relax. You are welcome here to just enjoy.
