George was great communicating info and giving pictures of the room. It was a little difficult to find at night, not a lot of lights on the street. Comfortable bed for a one night stay. Great location!

This is a beautiful and cozy space away from the main busyness of the island. I especially enjoyed the bike that made it a quick 5 minutes to the beach.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this property! It truly was the perfect place for our pups to stay, and the location was absolutely great. On top of that, the ease of the process and communication with George was completely on point from start to finish.The only very minor drawbacks were that the outlets were a bit limited when trying to plug all of our things in. Also, we just so happened to be there during an unseasonably hot time, so it did get quite warm inside the VRBO. But George had additional fans available that helped.Overall, it’s a lovely property with excellent hosts, and we would definitely recommend it—especially if you are traveling with four-legged friends!

The room was very comfortable and clean. The tile shower was recently updated and very nice. We enjoyed the amenities: two beach cruiser bikes with helmets and locks and beach chairs you could carry like backpacks with towels which made them easy to take to the beach. There is parking available but we used the bikes to get around the island. We used the washer and dryer which was super convenient. George is a super great host and we enjoyed staying at his elegant apartment. We would definitely stay here again.

The property was everything I needed and wanted it to be. It was clean, pet-friendly, and close to everything. The backyard is inviting and provided a cool respite from the heat. The room is comfortable and quaint with a lot of the period charm still intact. And while there was no AC, there were several fans provided that kept things cool. The host was very gracious and greeted me warmly upon arrival. We did not run across each other for the rest of my stay but I have no doubt that if I needed anything he would have been available immediately. My son is stationed at Coronado and I would definitely stay here again.

This incredibly charming guest room never felt anything but a private cozy hideaway. With its own entrance, restroom, and accommodating host - we felt so fortunate to have found the perfect home-away-from-home for our trip. The island is a beautiful slice of Americana, and the host George was accommodating and available any time we needed without ever feeling like we were imposing on him. With an incredibly fair price, Swiss Army knife of amenities, and in such an incredible location no matter what part of San Diego you’re visiting, I can’t recommend this hidden garden guest room enough! Thank you, George! We’ll be back 🥂 ✨ 🙏

We had a wonderful stay. Super easy check in and out. Plus they welcomed our dog Lira which was so nice! Enjoyed wondering the neighborhood streets into town. Lovely stay.

We were unable to stay at this property due to excessive heat. Upon arrival, we realized there was no air conditioning, and San Diego was experiencing a heat wave that had been going on for three weeks. The windows were open and there were gaps in the screens along with street noise. We reached out to our host who told us that air conditioning was not listed and we responded that we thought it was a standard feature in the United States. This was our mistake. We told him it was way too hot to sleep in the room and also that we did not feel secure leaving our things as we were on the street. We asked for a refund for at least part of the stay. He let us know in a message that his family had had the house since 1936 without air. I am sure this is true, but everything else around it appeared to be air-conditioned, with closed windows in 95-degree heat. To rent this, I believe at the very least he could have put in a portable A/C or given us an option to cancel ahead of time. We spent the evening walking around looking for available hotels and found one with air conditioning. My advice to anyone looking is: don't stay here. It is a bedroom and bathroom attached to a house. There is a nice seating area outside that is featured in the picture but again, not usable due to heat.

Nice small place to stay

My husband and small dog stayed here for 5 days and it was pleasant. You cannot beat the location, price and convenience for staying in Coronado.
