We were there for a wedding, 7 adults total. This is an old but beautiful house, and it had almost everything we needed. My impression is that it could have been maintained a little better. The front porch is lovely and would have been much more usable if all of the bushes in the front did not completely eclipse your view. There is a large dining table in the foyer which made circulation difficult and the other table in the kitchen only seated 2 people. The downstairs bathroom was so remote that it rarely got used so 5 people all shared the upstairs bathroom which was not ideal. There is absolutely no place to put clothing so you will live out of your luggage on the floor. One of the bedroom closets was completely unusable so we had to hang our wedding clothes in another person's closet. There are no fans anywhere on the property. Would have been nice to have one at night. Lastly, the lockbox for the single key to get into the property was stubborn.

We always try to provide a 5 star stay for all of our guests, as evidenced by our many many 5 stars over the last ten years. This guest messaged me a similar message after their stay was over, and I'm sorry that they did not email or call me during their stay. It would have been a simple request to drop off some fans for them, and even an extra clothing rack for additional wedding clothing. We live just a few blocks away and are always here for our guests. We let them know that during our check-in message and we mean it. I would have loved to know about any concerns during their stay to improve their stay. Communication is key!

In Town For a Wedding

This is a great location for a family visiting Huntsville. Near restaurants and coffee shops, it was very convenient. Highly recommended.

Charming Historical House

Charming house with whimsical decorating touches in all the rooms of this restored historical property. Rooms are large and comfortable. The location is ideal for walking tours of the historic downtown district.

Awsome place

This place is bigger than what the pictures seemed, the neighborhood is very nice and we had no problems walking directly to downtown. I would love to move to that area but meanwhile we highly recommend the stay as it couldnt have been more perfect for the occasion. We all were very impressed with our stay!!!

Perfect, charming house for out of town guests to enjoy and have easy access to downtown events, restaurants and shopping. Our guests loved this house and its cool, artsy vibe and comfortable amenities.

Nice stay while attneding our confrence

Older house - has alot of history. House had everything we needed including a huge tub for soaking. Really appreciated the snacks as i was starving after a long flight.

Perfect Location

My family most enjoyed the proximity to downtown and all the excellent food. I most enjoyed the walks in the historic sections of Huntsville. The house was clean clean clean and the beds comfortable. The size was perfect for my two tweens, my daughters and an infant as well as my grown son and his partner.

Family Wedding Weekend!

A beautiful house in a beautiful neighborhood! Everything was perfect, plenty of room for a getaway with adult kids, beautifully decorated and spotless with comfy beds! Lots of fun places to eat and visit within walking distance. Shannon was so accommodating with communication and a change in dates! This is def a must stay for families of all ages!

The house was great for my family of 8 adults and a 15 yr old. Just a couple of small things. No toaster in the kitchen and no towel racks anywhere. Small things, but necessary for a family of 9. We loved the area and everything else about the house

A nice historic house

We were in Huntsville for a wedding and rented the Hummel house for my wife and I and our adult children. It is a very nice house in a quiet neighborhood and we will rent it again if we are in Huntsville again. My only caution to other renters is that three bedrooms are located upstairs but only one bathroom which necessitate coordination.

Great House, Location and Host!

Such a neat home with lots of character! In a perfect, quiet neighborhood that was perfect to stay with my mom and sister for a girls' trip while my son attended Space Camp. The location was perfect - a short drive or walk to downtown, great to get out for morning strolls, and easy access to the interstate. We enjoyed many local restaurants, making candles at Holtz, the french bakery, and the local microbreweries. We will be back!

Old Town Huntsville

This house is in a good location, close to downtown. The house is large with plenty of room for everyone. The only problem with the house is the AC controls are locked in boxes, so you have no control of the temperature settings.

Thank you for staying at our home! This is a "smart home" and the temperature is controlled remotely. We are happy to change the temperature, all you have to do is ask! We can usually change it within a matter of minutes.
