Great cabin, poor internet service

The cabin is cozy and comfortable, well supplied. The difficulty was the internet service. It made it hard being in the cabin all day because of the bad cold weather. The TV and Internet service for our phones was basically non-existent. Text message was the best way we could communicate. Calls ee received kept breaking up. We are thinking of returning either in spring or fall when we could enjoy the outdoors more.

Almost Heaven

The sign over the detached garage reads "Almost Heaven" and that's exactly the best way we can describe our stay at the Pleasant's adorable original cabin turned cottage on some of the quietest and most peaceful surroundings anyone could ask for. Hearing the sound of the creek water as it wound over the rocks and a long the property with several small footbridges you could cross over and hear the crunch of the beautiful fall leaves under your feet 😍. You drive to the end of the road....the outside world isn't even a sound or sight away. We truly didn't want to come home... We wanted to stay and say it was home. The owners are awesome and very kind to answer any questions you have. If you're ready to put the stresses and strains of the outside interference of life away and enjoy a relaxing get-a-way in VA... this is the place! Easy to grab your essentials in town at a few places and take in a meal at Stewart's Family restaurant...then within about 10 minutes you'll be taken off the beaten path to "Almost Heaven". We can't wait to go back and unwind our cares at one of the best VRBO's we've ever found. Much appreciation to our hosts for everything.

A Perfect Getaway

Perfect place to stay. Nice and quiet and beautiful place to reconnect with nature.

This place is all it was advertised to be. Great communication with owner. Ian had passed through the area right before we were to arrive and owner kept us abreast of the situation and agreed to move our reservation. Extremely accommodating! Love this place and may comeback in the future. Do yourself a favor and book a stay!!!

Country Quiet and Privacy

Cottage was exactly as pictured and described. We loved the surrounding property as well as the bowlful of blueberries we managed to pick! We would love to come back later in Fall when the leaves change.

Weekend getaway

There are no words to describe what we felt while staying at Almost Heaven. You have to experience it for yourself. If you prefer luxury cabin stays in bustling cabin communities, next door to Walmart and the likes, this may not be for you. But if you want to experience true serenity and peace, listening to a mountain stream babbling along your front porch, hear the crickets and no other sounds, smell the fresh crisp mountain air, and don't mind being out in the middle of nowhere, this is for you! We did not want to leave and can't wait to come back.
