Benvenuti a The Whale's Tale - un paradiso sull'oceano situato a Port Renfrew, BC. La suite completamente arredata è situata alla foce del fiume San Juan, con vista sulla baia e sulle montagne del famoso West Coast Trail.

The view was even better than the photos, and the property was very clean and tidy. Dan & Carol are TERRIFIC hosts, great communication, very helpful, and Dan even welcomed us with some fresh salmon that we cooked up and enjoyed.

This was a perfect spot to spend time birding on the beach, to venture from and to just chill. We wish we'd had more time. But a return visit is on the agenda.

Definitely paradise

Our stay at Whale's Tale was amazing. It is a beautiful place to stay. The weather was beautiful, our host Carol was helpful and friendly. It's our second time staying there and we would recommend it to everyone.

Awesome Place

We spent 3 nights / 4 days in Port Renfrew at Whale's Tale. The suite has everything you need, the location right on the water is so relaxing, the hosts are awesome with information about the area and are very quick to respond. This was such a relaxing and great getaway for my wife and myself. Such a beautiful and well set up suite, we will definitely be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in Carol’s well designed, well equipped studio apartment by the water with easy access to beaches, hiking and the local pub.

The Whale’s Tale is such a beautiful place to stay in Port Renfrew. Stunning views and great location right on the beach. The hosts have really put a lot of thought into stocking the suite with things one needs when away. Super clean gorgeous suite.

Heavenly Stay

Just what the absent doctor prescribed for my well-being. Both my friend & I enjoyed every moment of our stay. Walking on your beach reminded me of my childhood, playing in “rooms”. Driving out of town across single lane bridges, going to see beaches and campsites-all picture perfect. In my book you get 10 Stars. 🐝

The room was very nice. Everything was clean. The bed was super comfortable. But the view! This was one of the best places we have stayed. Nothing beats sitting outside in the morning with your coffee enjoying the view. Easy access to the beach for walks. Man, it doesn’t get much better than this. The only down side to this location is the lack of a decent grocery store. The one store there is isn’t even a good as a gas station convenience store. Better stock up in Sooke.

San Juan delight

This was very remarkable stay starting with the welcoming hosts. The unit is remarkably appointed throughout with an outdoor area for relaxation and wildlife viewing. The hosts were available when assistance was needed. Most of all were the unexpected gifts and very much appreciated. Our limited conversations only raised more questions. Perfect in every way

The Whale's Tail in Port Renfrew was an ideal location for exploring the coastline beaches. We loved the beautiful view of the cove from the patio and the private beach just down the steps from the yard. The unit was immaculate and tidy, with all the kitchen items we needed. The very nice bathroom had plenty of hot water, good water pressure and soft, fluffy towels. Nothing was lacking in the unit. The hostess was extremely friendly, considerate and responsive when we asked for a suggestion about the area. She anticipated every possible need. We could not have asked for a better location, rental, view or experience! Thank you!

Brilliant!!!!!

Imagine opening the curtains and the whole patio window view consists of the sea, the beach, green mountains, blue sky (for us anyway) seals swimming past, eagles and ospreys flying by, that's what you get when you stay at the Whales Tale. You also get immaculate accommodation, friendly neighbours and locals, a pub with the best atmosphere on the planet, salmon fishing from a great marina, loads of wildlife to watch and some great hikes and places to visit. And then you get Carol and Dan who make being great hosts look easy............probably because they are just lovely people. They certainly go out of their way to make you feel welcome and ensure you are short of nothing. We loved it and will be back!! Shaun and Sally Allen

Remote, rugged, and relaxing

We could not have asked for a better place to get away and unwind. Port Renfrew is a little more remote than I had thought, and we were warned that there was very little in town, and we appreciated the warning. The suite is attached to the owner's house, and we were so glad/lucky he was there! Dan's an avid fisherman, and was happy to share his catch with us - salmon one night, crab the next. Super nice folks, happy to help with anything but not intrusive in any way. The space itself is cozy, simple but elegant, perfect for a couple trying to get away. Wifi, but no cellular or TV (awesome!). Just siting on the porch, watching the surfers, osprey, eagles and seals would have been enough. The local pub serves excellent food, and we went whale watching with the outfit in PR. So looking forward to coming back!

The moment we walked into the suite, we felt super comfortable. The amenities were thoughtfully set up with more than enough supplies available for our three night stay. We got a chance to meet Dan, who kindly gave a beautiful piece of salmon he caught and we got to enjoy a lovely dinner on the patio. The property is lovely, a few steps to the sandy beach and the views are so gorgeous, we really a chance to unwind and relax. The location is easy to get to and we spent time exploring the area. We will definitely be back!

5 stars for this amazing studio accommodation, so wonderfully appointed, bright efficient interior, super clean bathroom with great water pressure in the shower. The setting is spectacular, beautiful patio and yard right on the beach. At low tide it is fun to walk a short distance on this beach or it is an easy walk across the bridge to another long stretch of beach. Port Renfrew is a quiet community but it does have some amenities for food, and Botany Bay and Botanical Beach are only a short drive from the property. Thank you to the owners who even in their absence made us feel welcome.

We had a wonderfully relaxing three days strolling the beaches, enjoying the tides and glimpsing the curious seals. As avid naturalists the location was ideal to trek a few hours amongst the gorgeously rich local forest and valley, pop back to the suite to recharge by the surf, then out for another short adventure. Botanical beach was an inspiring experiencelow tide with the early light playing brilliantly off the surf splashed rock outcrops draped in a rainbow collage of life. marine life

Relaxing, high quality waterfront accomodation

My wife and I really enjoyed our time here. Everything was super clean and comfortable. Modern kitchen appliances, very comfortable bed and couch. It was great spending dinner eating and watching things happening on the water.

We enjoyed our stay and the hosts were very nice. Just a few steps from the door I was able to enjoy some fishing from the shore. We highly recommend this place.
