In 13 yrs of renting our 5 homes, I have never experienced such abuse of a property and its contents, such gross inconsiderations and filth, and even ongoing personal threats. Unfortunately, most of her claims are false, and we barely communicated, although I tried. I emailed her to discuss the damages and never heard back. Then the threats began. I am very seriously more than happy to share photos of the damage to anyone who inquires--please just ask! The issues began before she arrived. She did an automatic booking and ignored all of my emails and all of the final VRBO payment requests (for months). I emailed to ask if she was cancelling and she didn't respond. She eventually paid her balance but there was no dialogue and I never heard from her again. I reached out again 1.5 wks before her arrival, asking if she needed any baby equipment. Again, no response. After 7 mos of ignored emails, I finally heard from her 2 hours prior to check-in, with an explicit demand (not a request) that 2 cribs, 1 high chair and 2 baby gates needed to be present upon her arrival. I have lots of baby equipment that I share between my 3 Willard Beach homes and it was all at the other homes. Although the equipment was not in use, it was not enough notice to impose upon my other guests to request entry into their basement to retrieve the equipment, so I raced to the mall to buy all new equipment for her and texted her that she would have all brand new equipment waiting for her. Again, no response. The first contact was to request a lock for the door to the basement. We immediately installed one. Again, no acknowledgement of the lock, baby equipment, the cake, wine, etc. She only complained that they felt stuck at home because they couldn't think of activities for their range of ages from toddlers to her 84 y/o blind father. She is correct--there are no dressers in the loft but the loft set-up is clearly shown in my ad and the beds can be moved from under the eaves. The patio furniture was new but has now been replaced (we had to replace it that day with a Uhaul). There were are no ants. They left dirty bras, panties, and other "unmentionables", never took out the garbage (13 days, 11 guests, tons of diapers-a horrific stench), stacked 4 mattresses on one bed, gouged the wall, stairs, permanently stained the patio & living room sofas and rugs (all replaced now) and much more. Sadly, she refused to cooperate with the damage insurance, which would have covered much of her damage.
