It was obvious from the beginning that this host knows how to run a rental property. The entire trip was seamless and we were all so pleased with our stay. I highly recommend this property. I’ve never seen such a well-stocked kitchen at a rental. Bathrooms were clean and working well. We were there in August and it was very comfortable temperature-wise in the house.

Great place to stay for a group! The house was just like the photos online, very clean, and the view from the deck was amazing! We will definitely stay here again in the future and recommend it to friends looking for a stay. The location is just a few minutes from Main Street in Banner Elk or you can drive up to Beech Mountain for more restaurants and Mountain Views.

Absolutely loved the place . Amazing view , cabin was super clean and decorated perfect! Most beautiful cabin I have ever stayed in. Lots of room for the family to stay and be comfortable. Every thing was perfect . Thank you for such an amazing stay. The host were wonderful and very responsive. We will definitely stay there again. If you are looking for a great experience close to everything but secluded with a wonderful view and all the luxuries of home in a cabin setting this is your place!

Longview is appropriately named. The view will not disappoint. The best seats are the rocking chairs. The first week in Oct. the leaves were beginning to change. Hiking to waterfalls was great. The Host was superb. Communication was excellent. Check-in was easy. The rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. The house was perfect for our family with two couples and five children 8 yrs. and under! The large upstairs den with spacious seating meant everyone had a comfortable chair at all times. The deck provided a nice play area for the children as well. The drive might could fit five cars if some are small and they are parked tight. We had a full-size truck and SUV & a sedan they just about filled the driveway. Mountain parking is always a premium , but it should be noted it is one long driveway wide enough for one vehicle. If anyone wants to leave that is not the last car in, the other car(s) need to be moved and they will need to be backed out. The end of the road has space to turn around. My only complaint is that trash MUST be taken to the dumpster, which is 20 minutes away and closed 2 days. I feel like it should be noted that guests are responsible for trash removal. Preparing three meals daily for 9 created a lot of trash! There is no locked area to secure it so daily someone was lugging the trash to the dumpsters on the other side of the Elk Horn. Only two bags of trash can be left at checkout or there is an extra charge of 7/bag.

Amazing space, would definitely stay again. The queen bed is in a non-private loft space which I couldn't tell from the listing but it wasn't a problem for us. Love the area.

The house worked out great for our family of 9 and it could have held a couple more. The house has an amazing view from the back porch, along with deer that would visit often.

The name speaks for itself. Longview had the most amazing views, we loved sitting on the back balcony every day and taking it all in. The cabin is in a perfect location and pretty close to most family friendly attractions such as Sugar Mill gem mining, the Alpine coaster, Linville Caverns, High Mountain Adventures (rafting), Grandfather mountain, Beech Mountain and Sugar mountain resorts. We were a family of 4 and had so much room to spread out. We appreciated that the kids had their own space downstairs with double bunks and their own living room with TV. The kitchen was fully loaded with everything you could possibly need. The only thing that was disappointing to discover upon arrival was that there was no A/C so when we checked into the cabin it was 80 degrees inside. We did open all the windows and kept them open for the entire stay and fortunately it rained most days which cooled things down a bit. It would have been nice to have seen this on the listing as some people may have a problem with this, especially if renting mid summer. Either way, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back!

This property is excellent! The location is awesome. You're close to Sugar and Beech ski resorts and groceries/shopping, but it feels like you're not. The house itself is nicely appointed and equipped with more than the appliances you'd expect, and has plenty of space for everyone. Everything is clean and comfortable. The windows and wrap around deck give unbelievable views.John is a great host. He's friendly, accessible and helpful. We have stayed at a number of his properties and will continue to do so.
