Celebrated my birthday with a lovely stay at the river estate. We enjoyed celebrating the charming old Hawaiian feel of the home. The furnishings and beds are very comfortable and we had everything we needed. The bedroom ac’s were awesome. Perfect for chilling out, cooking on the bbq and relaxing with great friends. The sound of the river and views of the mountains and scenery out the expansive windows are wonderful. The house has lovely light. We really appreciate Mark working with us after the hurricane to make our visit possible and to maximize our short stay with an early checkin and late checkout. Always provided responsive communication. Love the Haven coffee house being in walking distance and the nearby beaches too. Great location for being on the beautiful North shore.

The house was wonderful - kitchen was super clean and fully prepared for all of our cooking. Bedrooms had individual mini splits for AC - the grounds were well maintained, and the provided beach chairs and boogie board were a lot of fun.

River Estate is a true respite and a wonderful place to embrace the beauty of nature and find relaxation. This was our first family vacation in 8 years, and this gorgeous site was the perfect spot for us to all be together. We loved the lanai the most; it's where we ate all our meals, read books, played games, and even watched some World Cup competitions, all with the view and sounds of the river, the occasional rain, and the chickens. The house has virtually everything one needs, and it comes with a phenomenal host. Mark was simply outstanding, responding immediately to any questions, handling any little glitches, and even calling us on the landline to tell us that Wifi was down in the area. We are very grateful to have had the opportunity to stay in this paradise!

The house was beautiful and wonderfully located. Our stay coincided with a very large storm and our host, Mark, was in constant communication and kept us updated. We like to cook and found the kitchen well stocked for our needs.We are looking forward to visiting again in summer months.

Mark is the consummate host -ready and willing not only to help with your stay at Riverhouse, but also to help with your arrangements for activities in the area. We LOVED what we called our “treehouse” as the view out the windows was of beautiful green trees, plants, colorful flowers, etc. We found all things we needed in the kitchen, laundry room and bathrooms. Clean, soft linens on the comfortable beds. For those who haven’t been to Hawaii in recent years, bring ear plugs for night sleeping as the roosters all over the island are avid crowers! In other respects, this couldn’t be a more peaceful place to be.

Wonderful Stay

The house is clean, comfortable, and decorated nicely. The beds are really comfortable and the kitchen had everything I needed. The house is off the beaten path and it was nice to get away from the traffic and crowds. Would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay!

The apartment has a great location close to Hanalei Bay and is beautifully kept and immaculately presented. Lovely setting in beautiful gardens, away from the road, and very well appointed kitchen with all mod cons. We enjoyed the hot tub on the veranda too!

A magical house on the North Shore of Kauai with easy access to Haena State Park for hiking, Tunnels beach for snorkeling and all that Hanalei has to offer (beach, restaurants, equipment rental, etc.). The kitchen is well-outfitted, the rooms comfortable and there are beach chairs, a boogie board and some floats available for use. The owner was super communicative and helpful. We would stay there again.

Awesome location

Close enough to town and yet felt like we were out in the country! Being next to the creek was a bonus. Incrediblyt well stocked kitchen.

Great place to stay!

Property was as advertised and well equipped. The location is fairly tucked away on a small river with two beaches close by. There was a small general store and coffee shop close by which were handy to avoid extra trips to Hanalei. Mark was very responsive so check in and out were simple. Would recommend.

Gorgeous location, excellent host, beautiful home

The North Shore is our favorite spot on the planet and we’ve been fortunate to visit many times. Mark was hands down the best host of any property we’ve stayed at and he has a beautiful, comfortable home with all the amenities you could hope for. We had a marvelous time and would gladly book again.

We loved our stay at the river house. We didn’t want to leave. Mark was great! He answered all my questions and even had our kayak rentals waiting for us when we arrived. I love this location! Close to all of my favorite beaches and the best sunrise’s and snorkeling on Kauai. Perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty. Everyday was a beach day!
