Very disappointing stay with multiple safety and cleanliness issues. We notified the property through VRBO that we would arrive around 10:00 AM; VRBO stated check-in after 7 AM. We arrived at 10:15 and were told the room was not ready and that we would be called. No call came, and we waited until 1:15 PM before returning and learning the room was ready.
The reservation incorrectly showed a request for a smoking room, which we absolutely did not request. My husband has asthma and I have a history of lung cancer. I messaged the property 5 times over 12 hours through VRBO with no response. At arrival, staff confirmed smoking is not allowed. I also had to show staff VRBO’s policy that service animals have no fee before they agreed.
The most serious concern was an owner’s/staff member’s small unleashed dog repeatedly charging and barking at my service dog. On two separate occasions, including twice in the elevator, my husband had to pick up our service dog to prevent a confrontation. This is unacceptable because an injury could prevent my dog from performing his trained duties.
Other issues: stained towels; dirty/stained outdoor table with an ashtray despite being told smoking was prohibited; a barking German Shepherd next door prevented us from using our balcony; construction began at 7 AM; no microwave despite the listing; gas stove required manual lighting; bathroom door handle fell apart; remote was missing and staff gave us a box of five incorrect remotes before we found i
