This is a good house to stay, but has some drawbacks, as do most holiday lets. Please note, we stayed in early January and our review reflects that! It's a 30 minute walk to the Padstow ferry, 15 to local shops. Ideal. Quiet and rural.
Beds and bed linen are of a high standard, as are kitchen ware and the bathroom facilities. If 6 people were there, having only one bathroom might be an issue. The shower is excellent and not reliant on the hot water tank, unlike the bath. Good utility room and washing machine.
The heating is adequate only, but a visit during a cold snap in winter might be testing as the night storage heaters don't have a strong output. The wood fire in the lounge is OK too (local stores sell kindling and wood), but needs some extra personal protection, such as heat-proof gloves. The electric heaters work well enough but they would be awkward to take downstairs to the bedrooms on cold nights. The TV is decent but the DVD is rather old and unreliable.
Getting out onto the road was hazardous as the view down the hill is blocked by hedging - perhaps a mirror opposite the drive looking downhill would reduce the chance of an car accident.
