When we book a house for a holiday our minimum requirement is that it is at least as spacious, well furnished, clean and comfortable as our own home and Achnaha most definitely did not disappoint. In fact, with the large gardens, stunning views and proximity to the beautiful beaches, it is leagues ahead of our own home. Many houses we've rented over the years have at least one failing; whether it's room size, lack of utensils in the kitchen, too small a TV, lack of cushions/pillows (we can be quite picky so this list has been shortened). However, Achnaha was a home from home full of the comforts, amenities, utensils (we used both the cheese grater and the pizza slicer - often overlooked by other property owners) and luxury touches every holiday deserves. There was ample storage, the layout is perfect if you're sharing with friends or family as privacy can still be found when the house is full, the house was warm and spotless, the gardens (while large) were well maintained and great for the children to explore and the views are incredible. There's plenty to see and do in the surrounding area but, equally, it's a perfectly relaxing place to enjoy your holiday if you don't want to walk along the beach, go island hopping, take in a Whisky tour or shop in one of the local towns/villages. The more I reflect on it, the sooner we're likely to go back for another visit...
