More than expected

The most amazing house we have stayed at. The room set up was perfect and the views unbelievable. We fell in love with this house and the region. Thank you Ana for an amazing stay and also organizing a chef for us.

If you’re visiting the Douro Valley, you need to stay here! Our group of six adults didn’t want to leave. Everything about the property is exceptional. We were greeted with a welcome basket of meats, cheeses, bread and fruit, as well as wine and beer. It was such a thoughtful gesture and perfect after a long drive from Óbidos. The kitchen is a gourmet’s delight, the beds were comfortable and the bathrooms clean and modern. The weather was too cool to enjoy the pool, but we did use the fully equipped gym. We had fresh bread and croissants delivered every morning. The fridge was stocked with eggs, yogurts, juices, meats and cheeses. Bowls of fresh fruit were on the kitchen counter and dining room table. Ana was a great communicator and provided us with an extensive list of places to eat, wineries to visit and sites to see. This Villa and our time in the Douro Valley was the highlight of our trip to Portugal! We unanimously give this Villa a five star review!

Ana was great at communicating helping us organise transport and recommendations for restaurants. The breakfast every morning was a lovely touch and there was plenty of room for us to have our own stay. The photos online do not do this villa justice - it’s a lot more impressive in real life! Very clean, lovely stay!

Great home for family

The house is beautiful with an incredible view of the Douro river. We are a family of 11 and the children lived the pool. The kitchen was well supplied for cooking and the breakfast provided each morning was wonderful. We took advantage of a chef prepared meal one evening and I recommend doing so. The road to the home is steep but manageable.

Beautiful gateway to the Douro Valley

We could not have been happier with the experience! We were traveling with a large family (9 of us total, all adults), and there was plenty of space. The views were beautiful, and the house was clean and well kept. They had a chef make us dinner one night, which was a very special experience. I will note that the house is up a steep, narrow road and so large vans could be a challenge. Overall, it was one of the best VRBO experiences we have ever had.

Wonderful Property for a Great Price

We stayed at this property during the first week in October. There were 7 of us ranging in age from 40 to 73. The property is beautiful and has everything you need. Each bedroom has an attached bathroom. The pool is wonderful. There are not a lot of restaurants in the area, and you need to have transportation to get to them. We opted to have our host, Ana, arrange to have a chef prepared our meals for the 2 nights we were there…food with wine paring. The meals were fabulous! Think about this as an option. Ana also arranged rides for us and that was a great way to go to wineries and return. We did walk back to the house from a wine tasting in Pinhao…it was hot and uphill all the way. We did make it, and our reward was a wonderful afternoon in the pool! Ana is very responsive to your needs. Think about having her arrange rides for you. We hated to leave!

Amazing

The house and the view are just as spectacular as everyone else has mentioned. Ana is an incredible host and she has thought of every detail needed at the house. She even helped us with arranging some transportation that we really needed. Ana also arranged dinner from a local cook and it was excellent. It was perfect for the first night so we didn’t have to figure out taxis back from a restaurant in town. It’s a steep hill up to the property, so it’s probably too much for guests who aren’t in good shape or when you have luggage. Downhill is still steep, but it’s an easy 15 minute walk into the village of Pinhao. Everyone in our group of 8 was really impressed by the property and we had a great time. There is a lot of space to spread out whenever needed. Beds are comfortable and all rooms have black out panels that electronically lower over the sliding doors, so it’s great for catching up on sleep. Highly recommend!

Amazing Douro Valley View

This house was fantastic. Clean, well stocked and property manager very responsive and helpful. Daily delivery of fresh bread and croissants was amazing. All rooms have a great view, pool was clean. Plenty of places to sit outside and tables to enjoy a meal. Lots of dishes, ice maker, all kinds of glasses to enjoy your wine and port purchases. It is a windy, narrow road to the house but well worth it for the views and great accommodations. Thank you for the opportunity yo enjoy this property and we would love to visit again.

Beautiful but hot

The house snd pool are perfect - very well equipped and very comfortable indeed with stunning views. It is up a hill hence the view but it was 42degrees and didn’t cool down until about 1am so was too hot to walk into the town for drinks or meals. A cooler time of year might be better but we had a great time

Beautiful house beautiful location

This is an amazing property. Modern, spacious, very well equipped and with a wonderful view down the Pinhao valley to the Douro river. Around 20 minutes walk from Pinhao station it is close enough for easy access to shops and bars. But far away enough to be peaceful and within immediate reach of great hiking up the beautiful, unspoilt valley. The owners are incredibly helpful and made sure we had everything we needed, including a fabulous breakfast every day. We were an group of 12 extended family members and had an amazing holiday - hiking, swimming, cooking and eating.
