We had an absolutely wonderful time here and will be back. The views are breathtaking, the home is beautiful and spacious, and the location was perfect. This was one of the best family (children, young adults, older adults) vacations we have been on. The owners, Ksenia and Timothy, were responsive and very hospitable. We cannot say enough about Fatima's wonderful cooking and Santos' assistance with local contacts.

Se neecesita una planta electrica

Quede superr sastifecha con la atencion de doña Fatima la. señora que nos cocino y su esposo excelentes personasss de buena educacion , aseo una atencion de categoria exclusiva si yo alquilara una casa en otro lado pido a doña Fatima que se vaya conmigo es lo mejor de lo mejor muy agradecida con su esposo por ayudar en todo momento.Ahi puedo mostrar fotos sin electricidad en la madrugada y parte del dia La casa super preciosa demasiadas escaleras para personas mayores donde los cuartos de abajo no se comunican con la casa se fue la luz una noche entera y habian personas que necesitaban del aire acondicionado (persona cardiopata g con lupus). Menores de edad aguantando calor , nos quedamos sin wifi por no haber luz ahi no hay planta electrica .Puedo mostrar tambien que la casa es preciosa pero pasamos esa noche y medio dia entero sin electricidad corriendo riesgo de perder 800 dolares en comida

Perfect Family Vacation

We absolutely loved our stay here! 10 adults for 2 weeks. So close to the beach, surf rental, easy drive into town and exactly as the pictures describe. Fatima was amazing, she answered any questions and is a fantastic cook. We’re still talking about how much we loved it and cannot wait to come back!

Beautiful house, missing small details

First of all, Fatima and Santos are just amazing! She helped cook a few meals, and they were just delicious!!!! The house sits on a very steep hill, and has a ton of steps. Very steep walk down to the beach where you have to walk over rocks and a couple boulders. While we had a lot of fun, we do feel a bit misled on a few things. First, you really need a 4x4 SUV to get to the house, especially if it rains. When it does rain the power, internet and TV all go out. Satellite internet was very unreliable. Knowing this, the house really should have had magazines, board games, card games and DVDs with a DVD player. Otherwise, you are left with zero activities. Also, with all the steps and the steep climb to and from the beach, we do not recommend this house for anyone over 65+ or with any walking difficulties.

The perfect house and location for a beach vacation!

Our time at the villa was absolutely amazing! With a group of 9, we had plenty of room to spread out and chill. The primary room was like something out of a dream, with its own little balcony where you could just lie in bed and watch the waves crashing down at the bay. And don't even get me started on the bathroom – huge and with a shower that felt like pure luxury. Fatima was a rockstar in the kitchen, whipping up insanely delicious meals every time. And having groceries delivered? Total game-changer. Because, you know, snacks are essential! And a big thank you to Santos for keeping the outdoor spaces in tip-top shape. The pool was always clean and inviting after a day at the beach. And speaking of the beach, the location couldn't have been better. A quick 2-minute walk and we were there, ready to hit the waves. The nearby restaurants were fantastic, and the surf was just the right mix of fun and chill. We're all surfers, so renting boards for the week was a piece of cake. We seriously fell in love with the vibe of the Remanso area and this villa! We'd book it again in a heartbeat for sure.

Great House, short walk to the beach.

Our group of 10 adults loved our stay at this beautiful, spacious house. The infinity pool is lovely and the beach is just a short walk away. Fatima lives on the property and was attentive to our requests and took care of any problems that arose. There were some problems with the dishwasher but that’s a minor item. The road to the property is a bit rough but the view is fantastic!

Amazing family holiday vacation!

Beautiful location for our multi-generational family Christmas holiday! Well equipped house and peaceful location. It was an absolute bonus to have delicious meals prepared by Fatima, the wonderful onsite housekeeper. Lovely beach a short, steep stroll away with cute bars and spots to rent surfboards.

Very nice location and housekeeping

The house was very clean and the same as the ad on VRBO. The location was amazing and perfect for quiet vacation. Close to a surf store so we could rent some for the whole time we were there. Close to the city as well. The housekeeping was amazing and was a big part of why these vacation were awesome! Her cooking was also really good!

It was amazing

The house was just like the pictures, it was clean and well organized . Fatima and her husband , were the ones managing and helping us with any needs of the house and even any other question regarding tours or restaurants or anything in between. And also Fatima cooked for us and it was amazing and delicious .

Absolutely beautiful!!

This place is amazing!! Could not thank Tim and Ksenia enough for having this beautiful place available for the public to rent!! The pictures don’t do it justice either as it is so much more then you can get out of photos. Jose and Tania(caretakers) were just as amazing, keeping the place meticulously clean and functioning. (We had dishwasher issues that were addressed immediately) we would definitely try to book this home again if we return with a group of people again😁

A dream vacation home

Me and my family stay at this home for a Christmas vacation. It is a beautiful and modern house located in a beautiful beach. Just 5 minutes and you are at a gorgeous and tranquil beach, not crowded at all, clean water and plenty of amenities to do. The owners responds to your requests quick and effective. Their caretakers keep the property clean and you barely see them. Tania the housekeeper is a very nice lady. I’ve been in San Juan del Sur before, but there is no comparison to what you have here. I will definitely stay here again :)

Lovely beach house

We rented this beach house for a short family vacation and it was lovely. It was just as described, very modern amenities and private and seconds from the beach. Owner was easy to communicate with and accommodating to requests.

Beautiful and amazing views

This is an outstanding house! Views of the ocean from just about any location in the house. You have 3 rooms inside the house and two room facing the infinity pool. The folks taking care of house are the best! They cater to all our needs. Friendly, courteous and very professional. We had 9 people in our trip and they did not disappoint. The owner of the house was extremely friendly and answered all of our questions and was always an email away. She answered right away. It is literally steps from the beach. At the beach they have a couple of restaurants (3 or 4) that were very friendly. They closed by around 5 or 6pm though. Downtown was about 15 minute drive which was very nice and folks were very friendly. If you go to Nicaragua, please look at this house. It was extremely amazing!

A Magical Stay in a Beautiful home

Seriously, this home was absolutely perfect, has everything you need and more, just steps from the beautiful Remanso beach. It’s about a 15 minute drive to the house from town on a rough road, but we rented a side-by-side and ended up having a blast driving to the house. We are in love with it and SJDS. The on-site staff, Tania and Jose, and the security guards are lovely. They are there for literally whatever you need, but not intrusive at all. We had a great time getting to know them. Watching the beautiful sunset each night was a dream, and the pool is perfect especially at night when the lights were on. The WiFi was fast, the beds super comfortable and the kitchen fully stocked. The beach is awesome, sometimes we were the only group there. And the surf break is perfect for beginners. We took surf lessons from Robertito, and my 11 year old absolutely was surfing by the end of the week! Best of all is probably Ksenia, she is an absolute dream to work with so helpful and communicative. She answered my tons of questions quickly and was kind enough recommend a caterer, to set up massages for us at the house and took care of my every question right away. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home, we will be back someday!

Great Trip!

Villa Mariposa is magnificent! Our first trip to Nicaragua was during the political turmoil everyone has been reading about, but we saw very little dissent, and had a great time. Most of that was due to the house we stayed in: private pool, plenty of room, great kitchen and outdoor BBQ area. Mostly sitting on the balcony looking at the surf in the awesome patio furniture Ksenia and Tim have was our favorite house "activity" - so relaxing and a beautiful view. The road from SJDS is a rural, dirt road (rent a 4x4), and the hike up and down the beach road would be difficult for some, but we did it daily and often. The water was awesome, the beach bar fun (the tacos were very good) and the locals overall very friendly. The house set this trip apart tho: great beds, bathrooms, living area, kitchen and pool - on-sight couple Jose and Tania kept things clean, the 6p to 6am security guard Baxion was on point --we really couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Amazing House, Beautiful Beach, Best location

What more can I say! This was probably the perfect spot. Regardless of the long drive from Managua airport to get here, it was well worth the travel. The beach is a short 1-2 minute walk from the front door and is very relaxing/secluded. The house is still close enough to San Juan del Sur that if you want to go into the city for groceries or a night out on the town, it's a short taxi away. We took multiple surf lessons and had no problem enjoying activities/tours right there on the beach. There were great waves for beginners and it wasn't crowded. The house itself is massive and exactly like the pictures. The house keepers were willing to provide cooking, driving, and more for a very reasonable price and made us feel very comfortable throughout our journey. I would recommend this place more stars if I could.

Perfect family holiday home

Eight of us...two daughters, two sons-in-law, two grandchildren and us, two grandparents, spent a wonderful week in this beautiful home with a gourmet kitchen! Short walk downhill to the beach with two small restaurants with amazing fish tacos. Surf lessons and good surfing. Beautiful private pool. Lots of outdoor seating to watch the sunset, etc. The caretakers live next door and we’re very helpful...only in Spanish, though. We hired their car one day to take some of our group to town and back, then some others to the Adventure Park. A bit far away from the town. The owners came by one day to meet us! Lovely couple!

Paradise! Hands down the most amazing villa we have ever stayed in. Vacation of a lifetime!

We were two families traveling together, with children (ages 14, 13, 13 & 10). We all agreed it was the best villa any of us have ever stayed in - a stunning home with a spectacular infinity pool which was only steps from the beach. First, the owner, Ksenia is fabulous. Any time I ever reached out with a question she was able to answer within minutes. As we were traveling from Boston the fact that I could reach her any time set my mind at ease. Then there were the caretakers - Tanya, Jose and Will - they all helped with anything and everything we needed. We hired a driver for the week (Will) and he was ready to take us into town any time we needed him. All 3 were always working hard to keep everything spotless, and it was honestly kind of wonderful to have the house so clean all the time. They live right on the property, in a small house near the pool. While they were there any time we needed anything, none of us felt like they intruded on our space. At all. And, if you did feel that way, they would absolutely make themselves scarce. They didn’t speak English and my Spanish is quite rusty, but with the help of google translate we all did just fine. We liked them all so much and they are part of the reason our trip was so amazing. The views are simply breathtaking. You are literally steps from the gorgeous beach. There was boogie boarding every morning. We took surf lessons one day too from instructors that have a shop down on the beach. We ate lunch a few times at the beach restaurants and went into town a bit for dinner, but we also went to the Pali for groceries and cooked a lot since the kitchen was begging to be used. The house is gorgeous. Everything is exactly like the photos. And so clean and fresh. The view during the day is spectacular, but at nighttime the lighting in the pool area was just heaven. The entire thing was an absolute dream. The location is about 15 minutes from town, and while it seems a little far away, everyone was so accommodating and it was so easy to get anywhere. All the tours we took picked us up at the house. There is internet that works everywhere. Even though the power went out a few times we honestly didn’t even notice because of the generator. It was truly the most fabulous vacation home we have ever stayed in, and on top of that the host Ksenia and caretakers were so kind and quick to tend to anything we needed. I very highly recommend Villa Mariposa, we already can’t wait to go back!

This house was amazing! Perfect location.

We were a group of 10 and a baby and the house was perfect for us. The house was just as beautiful as the pictures. It was the perfect distance from town. The pool was awesome. The view from the deck was very relaxing and the perfect place to watch the sunset. We didn’t rent a car, but we’re able to catch a taxi or shuttle from the beach when we needed to (which wasn’t much because we felt just staying at the house and Remanso beach was vacation enough). We used the house car one day to go to Playa Hermosa and then to dinner at the Black Monkey near the house. The car was very affordable and it was great to have a driver. The caretakers were super nice (even though our Spanish was not good enough). They took good care of us. It was actually nice having them and the night guard around especially when we left the house or walked down to the beach. Ksenia was awesome too! She was very responsive to all our questions before and during our stay. She was very understanding when we needed to change our checkout time a bit due to a misunderstanding of our pickup time and even helped us by calling the shuttle company. None of us wanted to leave...we definitely hope to come back someday!

Two sets of double rainbows set the tone!

We were impressed with the house and the caretakers when we arrived at dusk. But seeing two sets of double rainbows the next morning really set the mood for our stay! The house is amazing. The attention to detail in design, construction, furnishings, and maintenance is very impressive. We spent most of our time on the porch or the pool deck. The pool deck lighting at night was glorious. The porch was the perfect place to sip Nica Libres while watching the sunset. The beautiful beach and the beach restaurants are a short walk. And Tacos Restaurant and Grill even sold us fish fillets for Tania to cook for us. Tania and Jose take excellent care of the house and grounds and were very welcoming. We also hired Tania to cook two evening meals for us -- delicious! Owner Ksenia was great throughout. Very quick to respond to emails and answer questions when I was making the arrangements. He even emailed me on our first morning in the house to check in. The location is a bit remote. That's part of what we loved about it! We stayed for three nights without a vehicle. But our transfer service dropped us off and picked us up without any problems. There were taxis hanging out by the restaurants in case we wanted to go into SJdS (we didn't) so we felt we had an easy option if needed (or we could have hired a driver through Ksenia). This was unquestionably the best VRBO rental experience I've ever had. We started talking about coming back before we left.

Great stay for a holiday family vacation!

Three families and three generations enjoyed the house with a magnificent view for 4 days! The restaurant and surfing on the beach down below were an added bonus. The owner was very attentive to a few things along the way and was open to suggestions for improvement such as adding a microwave in the future. The road leading to the house is quite rough and could be handled better with a 4 wheel drive but is manageable. The driveway and sidewalk leading into the house is quite steep and requires extra precautions. Thanks for sharing your lovely home!
