Pictures showed a place that looked cleaner and in better repair than what we experienced. The refrigerator wouldn't stay shut without a cardboard wedge cardboard, the host asked us to replace the batteries in the smoke detector, the washer/dryer looked like a fire hazard with towels, cardboard boxes and supplies surrounding both units, and there was a lot of mold in the bathrooms.

Thank you for your feedback. I always aim to present my home accurately, and I’m glad my many long-term 5-star reviews reflect the usual guest experience. Before your arrival, I informed you that the refrigerator door occasionally requires a small wedge to ensure a tight seal, and I apologise again for that minor inconvenience. I also explained that I had left new batteries beside one of the smoke detectors for replacement, while two other working detectors were already installed in the property on the ground and top floors. At no point during the stay did you report concerns about safety or request assistance, and when I checked in with you in the VRBO app and on Whatsapp, you confirmed that everything was fine. I’m sorry to hear only after your check out that you were disappointed with aspects of your stay. Regarding the washer/dryer area, the units are professionally installed and fully compliant with UK safety regulations. The space around them contains standard household storage and is not a fire hazard. The home was thoroughly cleaned before your arrival; however, I appreciate your note about some mould in one of the two bathrooms, which is an issue I continue to treat periodically in our climate. I always encourage guests to raise any concerns during their stay so I can address them immediately. I’m sorry these matters were only mentioned after checkout, and I regret the home was not the right fit for your expectations. I wish you the best for future VRBO stays.

Great location with room for family

Property was close to transportation to city center with neighborhood restaurants and shops. Comfortable and great communication and check in/out process.

Wonderful Stay

Susan’s home is just as shown on the site. It is in walking distance to all modes of transportation and great places to eat and drink. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back, but next time won’t get a car as it’s not needed!

Nice house in a great area of London.

Nice house with a homey feel, in a great area of London. Very conveniently located within a short walk of the Tube. Clapham is a lovely area with lots of pubs and restaurants, and Clapham Common is a large, beautiful park, perfect for long walks.

Amazing Location

The house was a quirky Victorian, that was charming. The neighborhood was truly fabulous. Great restaurants, close to the tube and city.

Great location for a family vacation

Stayed for a week with 2 adults and 3 teenage boys. House was perfect with lots of room and 2 bathrooms. Super close to the tube and lots of restaurants and coffee shops close by. Susan was a great host!! Would highly recommend!!

Very pleasant stay in Clapham

Susan’s property is well appointed and very comfortable. It’s also within a few minutes’ walk from several bus stops and tube stations. Susan is a very responsive and accommodating host. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it!

Perfect family spot to visit london

Our family of 5 stayed here for over a week to visit London and it was perfect! Felt quiet and just out of the busy city but walked to public transportation, grocery store and restaurants all week. Could have stayed longer! Highly recommend

Family stay in London

Excellent location for a family stay in London. Easy access to the underground, the overground and busses. Beautiful Clapham Common is only a short walk away. Restaurants, pubs, coffee shops and supermarkets all within minutes. The property was very comfortable and spacious and Susan the host was warm, generous and provided us with lots of thoughtful recommendations for our stay. Cannot recommend highly enough and would love to stay here again.

Loved the property and area

This property is in a great location with good restaurants and shops. Very close to the tub station with easy access to wherever you want to go in London. Susan’s home was exactly what we were looking for. It had plenty of room for my family and we felt at home and safe there. The kids loved walking the local area and exploring. We would definitely stay in Susan’s home again when we come to London.

Our host Susan was amazing. He was supper helpful and when we had a couple of issues arise, she took are of them ASAP. It is very close to Clapham Common tube station. I did suggest some more room for storing luggage once you've unpacked. The top floor bedroom has a queen bed and on suite bathroom. The middle floor has 2 bedrooms- one has a full bed and the other a twin bed. We made use of the washing and drying machines. As Susan will tell you, no air conditioning in most of Europe. She did supply us a couple of fans.

Wonderful home, attentive host, great neighbourhood

We had a wonderful time in Susan's beautiful home. We stayed there with a family of 4 (children aged 7 and 1) and could not have asked for more. The house is very special and homely with plenty of space for everyone. The location was also perfect as it was literally close to everything (shows, restaurant, public transport). Susan was a very attentive host. Would highly recommend this house!

Wonderful place!

Our family of 4 adults (kids aged 18 and 21) really enjoyed staying here. The owner, Susan, was always attentive to our needs; the property was clean and for an American family visiting London for the first time, we felt like we were in a safe place; and being close the the Underground was super convenient- only about 20 minutes and 1 or 2 stops from almost anywhere. The grocery store was super close, and we had almost everything we needed at our fingertips. I would highly recommend this home for families and people who want to be immersed in London culture.

A good spot in Clapham

A nice property in Clapham, in a great location - just off the High Street, good transport links via Northern Line, near the Common. Overall, the property was clean - but very full of the owner's belongings, which meant clearing out cupboards to make room for things. Otherwise, a great stay and definitely recommended.

Perfect for our London visit!

This lovely house was perfect for our two-week vacation. We are a family of 5 (3 adult children) and were able to fit nicely with the addition of the extra mattress in one of the bedrooms. Really good location to jump on a train and be in London city quickly. Clapham itself was a charming neighborhood. Susan was a great host—clear and frequent communication. Highly recommend!

Wonderful Home!

My family (2 children and 3 adults) recently spent 6 nights in Susan's beautiful home and had a wonderful experience. The house is gorgeous and exactly as described, and is in a great location with easy access to shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and public transport. Susan is a very thoughtful host that was easy to communicate with, and the check-in process was easy. We will definitely try to book Susan's home again if/when we visit London again!

Cozy house in diverse neighborhood with transit links

Had a fantastic time staying with Susan. Place is three levels with easy steps inside. Ground entry, bedrooms above living area. Cozy nook on first floor. Bus, Underground, and Overground in close proximity. Plenty of food and grocery options within walking distance. Plenty of room for a family to explore London.

Art and funky character

Access to Tube and shopping was great. House is a bit cluttered. No ice or freezer in kitchen during a very hot week was difficult.

Freezer is under stairs, not in kitchen — separate to fridge. Several ice trays available. Also a top shelf in freezer to store bags of ice if needed. What a shame Mary didn’t see them or ask while she was staying.

Perfect neighborhood, Great host!

We loved this experience, start to finish. Location, neighborhood, communication- we had a wonderful time. Anything that went wrong was out of homeowner's control-- there was a systematic issue with the wifi that susan worked hard to fix, and it was a little unseasonably warm-- but that's a great problem to have in England in May.

Amazing home in Clapham!

This home in Clapham was wonderful. The owner was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was easy to get in touch with before and during our stay and made sure everything was perfect. The home is just off the busy street so was very quiet but also close to everything one needed. It is an easy 5 minute walk to either the Clapham North or Clapham Common tube station. There are numerous places to eat out or to buy provisions within minutes of the home. Clapham Common and Battersea Park were both within a mile so easy to get to for a walk or run. The house itself was clean and well-stocked. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and hope to stay here again.

I'm a cook, writer, film-maker, website designer, mother and entrepreneur who loves Clapham Common for its urban village feel, big green spaces, cafes and restaurants, farmers market and easy walk to Tube, train and bus stops to get all over London. My family is half-American, half-British, and we love the amazing energy and culture of London with so many museums and art galleries.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

I fell love with this house because it was so close to everything my kids and I needed--public transport, shops, park, cinema, cafes, restaurants (pizza, burgers, also fancy dining), doctor's surgery, post office, ice cream parlour.

What made my heart sing was all the light inside the house and the wooden floors and staircase built by the previous owner who was a master carpenter.

I picked the area to have a big green park nearby for running, also a sports centre a block away with two swimming pools, a full gym and exercise classes.

And it's only 20 mins by Tube to get to Borough Market, Leicester Square, and other central sites.

So close to shops, eateries and public transport but tucked away on a quiet side street. Clapham Common is a real London experience as lived by locals.
The house has three floors with large bedrooms, two living areas, and a home office with a sofa to relax on, so everyone has their space.
I've filled the house with original art and bright colours so it's a cheerful place to be -- a refuge after a day of sight-seeing.
