The house is well designed and beautifully crafted, and in a mountain setting which is truly magnificent. There are a few maintenance issues which need attention, but we would recommend this house as a wonderful place to stay. The open living room/kitchen was a marvelous place to gather, and our family group of twelve spent most of our time there. The downstairs family room was also greatly used, particularly by our 4 grandchildren who loved to gather there to play games, use their devices, or watch television.
The kitchen and laundry room are nicely equipped with quality appliances, but some routine maintenance is needed. We were notified before our arrival that the icemaker/water dispenser in the frig was broken, and would not be repaired for the duration of our stay. That needs to be fixed, obviously. On the six burner Viking gas cooktop, some of the burners do not ignite, so they must be manually lit. Once the burners are lit, the cooktop works well. The gas grill on the deck seems to have the same issue – only one burner has a working starter. Another issue is that to operate the trash compactor, one must push firmly in on the door to maintain the seal during operation. The dishwasher and the disposer in the kitchen work well. Also, the laundry equipment is new and works well.
We would have loved to have been able to fly the flag on the 4th of July, as all the other neighbors in the area were doing, but the bracket on the front porch was broken.
The hot tub on the deck was marvelous, and greatly enjoyed by all of us. We also loved the magnificent mountain views and the sunsets from the deck. Because the deck faces west, the late afternoon sun was occasionally intense, and we wish we had thought to bring an umbrella for shade. The wood chairs on the deck could use cushions, or at least some sandpaper – 2 of our family members got splinters in their bums from those chairs!
The lower level patio had a nice swing on it, but the weeds growing between the patio tile, some 2 feet tall, were a distraction. We did use that patio for our Cornhole game, however, and weeds or not, it worked well.
