We had a wonderful stay! The rental was exactly as described, and everything matched the listing. We arrived on a Monday, and the host graciously met us at the property to answer our questions and go over everything we needed to know, which made check-in very easy. The location was fantastic within walking distance of just about everything a visitor to Edinburgh would want to see or need. Despite being so centrally located, it was surprisingly quiet. I always travel with a white noise machine, but we had no issues getting a good night’s sleep, and the beds were very comfortable. One of my favorite parts of our stay was that the property borders the cemetery grounds. I enjoyed taking peaceful walks there early each morning before the city came alive. It was a beautiful, quiet way to start the day. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located place to explore Edinburgh.

Perfect location

A great place to stay if you like the restaurant scene. Can be somewhat loud at night but the noise doesn’t bother me. It’s to be expected for the location! Clean place, new shower and tub (very nice). Walking distance to see great views of the castle.

This property is in a great location! It's close to shops, pubs, restaurants, historical sites. The view out the back window overlooking the graveyard is just amazing. There is a pub across the street, so it's a bit noisy in one of the bedrooms, but I always travel with a portable sound machine and earplugs so I slept fine. It was very convenient having a kitchen and washer/dryer (we stayed here 5 nights out of a 15 night UK trip, so we did a lot of our own cooking and laundry to save money and space).The only qualms I had with this stay were initial communication regarding the check-in process; I had to reach out multiple times before I finally got instructions the day of our arrival, and only as a reply to me asking repeatedly. That was a bit frustrating as we were traveling by train so cell and WiFi reception were spotty, I was getting nervous we wouldn't have the info in time, but we ended up getting it! Checking in is a bit complicated, just fyi. Nothing crazy, just a few extra steps, make sure you read the info closely.The only other issue was the water heater shutting off. I was very confused, initially thinking hot water was just out momentarily being an old building. Hours later without any amount of warmth I realized the water heater wasn't on, but I was able to find it in a closet and start it.We would definitely stay here again, lovely place in a lovely city!

Great location, older property

Close to tons of restaurants and pubs. Dual window in bedroom facing the street blocked out noise shockingly well. Very creaky floor as it’s an older property. Hard for friends who woke at different times and wanted to try to stay quiet.

Great location, BAD check-in process. Property manager failed to provide us check-in details until I had to Google their number to call and ask them to send me the info. No info was found on their VRBO listing. They said they emailed me with details - the email in fact did not come with check-in details. Pretty stressful to deal with when you first enter into a new country. Once checked in, we did not hear from the property manager again. Otherwise, great location and a good accommodation.

Probably the most interesting thing is the view out the back of the cemetery and walls of Greyfriars Kirk. Out the front are shops and bars to the left and the church and museum to the right. Best meal of our entire trip was in the restaurant Under the Stairs across the street - duck lasagna. Grocery store is a short walk. The hop-a-bus around the city is just down the street - very much recommend it. In other words, it's a perfect location. It looks far away on the map, but the castle and Royal Mile are just up the stairs. The apartment is well laid out and while small it is not cluttered nor crowded. We did well with two couples even sharing the bathroom. I have recommend it to a friend who is traveling to Edinburgh in a few weeks.

We spent an hour standing outside the place in the rain trying to get the Guestready people to tell us where the key was. I uploaded all the proper information the day before. Both UK and French administrations insisted on having the documents a second time before they would tell me where the key was hidden. I would very much have appreciated not only better organization but also an earlier checkin, or a way to communicate with someone other than struggling with cconnectivity, wait times on the telephone and ineptitude with regard to the administration. It was appalling.

The room is in an amazing location. Perfect location for exploring Edinburgh. There are numerous shops and restaurants in the immediate area. The apartment was clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed. There was a considerable amount of noise from the nearby bar at night, even on a weekday, and it can be difficult to carry large luggage up the spiral staircase to the front door, but overall I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. We really had an amazing stay.

La chambre située côté rue est un peu bruyante mais c'est supportable ; l'appartement étant en plein centre, il est normal d'avoir un peu de bruit. La chambre côté cimetière est par contre très calme. Nous recommandons vivement cette location, nous y avons passé une très belle semaine.
