Although the house is more than 150 years old, it has been renovated and brought up to "modern" standards...while still retaining traces of it's past. Situated high on a hillside overlooking a small inlet, the sheep graze contentedly right outside your door, and when the sun goes down it is blissfully quiet...and dark! The extremely comfortable bed, the beautiful bath (and shower!!!) made it a wonderful place to relax after a long day exploring Skye. The heated floors in the bathrooms were an unexpected luxury...definitely worth the price of admission! Our host came over for an hour and we had a great time learning more about the house, and the local area. She has very thoughtfully left little notes and information cards around the house to explain how things work, along with a lovely gift basket, an antique brass telescope for gazing out the window, and binoculars for portable viewing. Be sure to sign the guest book too.The kitchen is well appointed if you want to cook your own meals, and the laundry is most welcome as well.I can't recommend this property enough. All in all an excellent experience...one we hope to repeat again soon!
