Disappointing stay
We arrived and met an agent who very quickly tried to rush us through the intake process. We discovered there was no wifi, and the service was bad on our phones so suddenly looking up thjngs to do or places to eat would become a time consuming and frustrating task.
There was not a single basic food item in the pantry- no salt, no olive oil, nothing.
The coffee maker was cracked and broken. When we sent a picture of it the agency didn’t even respond. Generally the house is old and unkempt- hinges that get stuck on the blinds, a garbage can whose lid won’t stay shut… this place needs some love and it has been a while.
The bath tub upstairs has a special way to turn on which wasn’t explained to us and the video they eventually sent wouldn’t stream because…no wifi. So for two-3 days until we figured it out ourself we were 7 people sharing one bathroom for showers.
All the soap provided was cheap, and not enough for the week stay.
And then the mosquitoes. There is a kind of pool for a fountain or somethjng in the yard which is filled with putrid water and is a literal breeding ground for mosquitoes. So every evening new ones would hatch and they were starving. No screens on windows of course so either you open the windows to get fresh air and be devoured or keep them closed and the house is dark and stuffy and hot. But sleeping well wasn’t happening anyway because of the construction plant right next door that begins jack hammering or sawing at 6am.
Overall the grounds are pleasant and we had a good time, but only because the area and Lakes are wonderful.
I would never book this house again and would recommend against.
