The Property

Hacienda del Colorado is a 12-bedroom property set within the private gated community of Vega Colorado, in the hills above San Pedro de Alcántara, in the municipality of Benahavís. Arranged across three floors, with mature landscaped gardens, a private heated pool, gym, sauna, wine cellar (not stocked) and multiple indoor and outdoor living and dining areas. The layout is spread across levels connected by steps, with distinct zones for dining, relaxing, swimming and quieter time. Different parts of a group can run in parallel without getting in each other’s way. It is built in the Andalusian hacienda tradition, with terracotta floors, exposed beams, and Moorish tile work throughout. A car is essential for longer stays as there are no shops, restaurants or beaches within walking distance. The nearest beaches, at San Pedro de Alcántara and Puerto Banús, are approximately 6 to 7km away, around 12 to 13 minutes by car. Vega del Colorado is a no-party urbanisation, so there is to be no late-night noise or anti-social disruptive behaviour.

The Pool and Grounds

The pool terrace is the main outdoor hub. The pool is 8.5 by 4 metres, with a shallow end of 1 metre and a deep end of 1.75 metres. Pool heating is optional. Please contact us for more information and price. Sun loungers are arranged around the terracotta terrace and a separate poolside gazebo has a bar, seating and a bathroom. There is also an outdoor fridge, freezer and small coal BBQ. The pool area is on the lower-ground floor level

Away from the pool, the gardens are mature and well maintained, with tall palms, jacaranda trees, flowering shrubs, a small stream, and a stone fountain. The pool table is positioned under a covered open terrace overlooking the gardens, with ivy-covered arches and a view across the lawns. On the ground floor there are two adjoining dining areas by a large gas BBQ. One is outdoor and the other is inside. They are made up of long tables put together.



Location

The surrounding area is quiet and green, with golf courses immediately adjacent. Marbella is approximately 25 minutes by car. Estepona is approximately 25 minutes. Ample parking for 8 cars makes arrivals straightforward for large groups coming from Malaga Airport. Benahavís village is around 17 minutes by car up the hill and is one of the better-known places to eat on the Costa del Sol, sometimes referred to locally as the dining room of Andalucia. The village centre has a good concentration of restaurants covering traditional Spanish, Mediterranean and international cooking, many with terrace dining on cobbled streets. The property works well as a base for day trips. Ronda, one of Andalucia’s most visited historic towns, is approximately one hour by car and makes a full day out. Marbella old town, Estepona, Gibraltar and the Sierra de las Nieves National Park are all within reach. The area has a Mediterranean climate with long warm summers and mild winters. Being in the hills, temperatures can be a few degrees cooler than on the coast, which is welcome in the height of summer. Spring and autumn are often good for golf, walking and outdoor dining. Winter can bring cooler and occasionally rainy spells. December to February are the quieter months and while sunny days are common, pack layers and do not rely on beach weather.

Within the same grounds, adjacent to the main house but completely separate from it, there is a garage with an apartment above used as an office and occasionally by the owner or caretaker. The two buildings share the same entrance drive but the apartment does not affect the use or privacy of the main house. Security cameras cover the driveway and parking area.

La Quinta Golf and Country Club is approximately 800m from the property, close enough that its signage points directly to Hacienda del Colorado. The club has a 27-hole course designed by Manuel Pinero, a driving range, a golf academy, and a restaurant and bar. It is part of the Golf Valley in Nueva Andalucia, one of the most concentrated areas for golf on the Costa del Sol, with five or more courses within a short drive including Los Naranjos and the Marbella Club Golf Resort. The Westin La Quinta Golf Resort and Spa is a short drive from the property. The resort has a spa with thermal circuits and treatment facilities, two restaurants, three bars, two padel courts and a seasonal Kids Club.
