Todo perfecto!

Hemos disfrutado mucho de la estancia. Hemos ido seis compañeros de trabajo y hemos estado muy a gusto aunque el tiempo no ha acompañado. Las instalaciones están muy cuidadas y limpias. El personal ha sido muy atento y nos han hecho disfrutar del entorno y de la historia del edificio. Intentaremos volver siempre que podamos.

Peace and tranquility in an amazing location.

From first booking, Marc's communication was excellent. The castles location is oustanding being some considerable distance from any major road making it an excellent place for peace and tranquillity. The only sound was cowbells and local wildlife . There is a very good rustic hostel a very short drive or walk away although all the amenities to cater for yourself. Marc, Ginny and Dora (the dog) were all super friendly and excellent hosts, able to provide local information and the history of this amazing castle. An outstanding place to stay and we would highly recommend.

Great spot, better hosts

We stayed in the Castell three nights and it was so lovely. Marc and Ginny were hospitable and generous, and the setting was incredible. Thanks for a memorable stay!

Unbelievable views, beautiful forest walks, a day spent swimming in rock pools, stunning buildings. What more can you ask?

Our hosts couldn’t have been nicer. Great information about hikes and the surrounding area.

It was such a unique experience to stay in a castle on a hill. The views were amazing and sunsets unforgettable. It is 20 mins from a town so make sure you have supplies for your stay. The kitchen is well equipped.

The most unique and special place to stay!

This property can be summed up in one cliche: EPIC!!! For my boyfriend's birthday I surprised him with a two-night stay in this castle and he was more than impressed. As a person who is very into history, especially the Medieval Era (or whenever Game of Thrones is meant to take place) he was blown away by how authentic it is. From the shutters on the windows to the faucet in the hallway of the main tower - It was not hard to imagine living during these ancient times. Another huge bonus was Marc, the owner. He was lovely, happy to share information about the castle, the area, and his on-going restoration project. He was very laid back and made us feel right at home. Also super easy to communicate with via Whatsapp. Marc was very generous as well. We were booked in the small property for 2-6 people, but the real cool factor is the space in the tower. As there was no one staying there at the time, he offered to open it up for us and gave us free reign to hang out and explore. It definitely made the experience. If you are going to stay here I would recommend booking the larger property in the Tower. The smaller property is still very cool and there is a balcony where you have the best view of the sunset. However if you are there to experience castle life, the Tower can't be beat! Also worth noting is that the nearest towns are about 45 minutes away. I did not realize how serious the driving would be and the roads were so mountainous and narrow that it took over 35 minutes to get down to the main road. I wish we had more time to cook food as the kitchen was great and would have saved us a trip to town on the last night. What you get instead is unobstructed views of mountains where the only lights come from a nearby farm/baker and another castle off in the distance. My only complaint about the property is about the squeaky bed in the master room of the small 2-6 person property. It was the loudest bed ever! So we moved to another bedroom and had a great nights sleep :) Loved this place and Hope to return someday! Thank you Marc for incredible stay!

Beautiful, Unforgetable, Perfect!

Our wedding party chose to stay at Castell de Llaes based in large part on the great reviews the property had online. Everybody was completely correct about how fantastic a rental it is. The caretaker, Marc, was a wonderful host. He's very welcoming and helpful with getting people situated. He was very informative about things to do in the area and is very knowledgeable about the local history. He's also very patient with guests and was always around when we needed him. We wish we could have spent more time getting to know him, a great guy. The house itself is a wonder to behold. The bedrooms are very charming with amazing views in every direction. Our group spent most of the week out on the balcony, which became the center of action every day and night. The wi-fi was limited but reliable. The kitchen facilities were just fine, as were the bathrooms. Most people will never get to stay in such an amazing place. Words don't really do it justice. There's a small hostel/restaurant a short walk down the road that shouldn't be missed. It's fun to walk down there for drinks and the home-cooked food is great. Watch out for boars! On a couple nights, our group swelled to over 20 people and it got a bit cramped up at the castle with all of us sharing bathrooms and fridge space. We were warned, but tried it anyway. Marc was helpful in accommodating all of us, but we don't recommend squeezing in that many people. Better to have several stay down the road at the cozy hostel. It was still a great time. We highly recommend this most amazing opportunity- you will NOT regret it.

A stunning place

The castle and the surrounding countryside was better than we expected with all the potential for a peaceful and relaxing stay. The owners were very helpful pleasant people, we could not fault them. However, we were not expecting that we were not able to get our vehicles right up to the front door and with carrying shopping and luggage for 15 people, this was quite time consuming. We were also disappointed that the hot water system was not very efficient and showers were mostly little more than lukewarm. The electricity supply was problematic also and when we were using the oven and another couple of electrical devices at the same time, the trip switch was triggered meaning multiple visits to reset it. Maybe too given that we spent 10 nights there, we could have been offered fresh towels. The heating was generally good although it was mild weather during our stay. Maybe too, the details should explain that the road to the castle is single track for some distance and unmade for the last stretch. Overall I would certainly recommend Castell Llaes but do feel that the above points need to be addressed.

Como en un sueño

Nuestra estancia en el castillo de Llaés ha sido de ensueño. Marc desde el primer momento nos recibió con mucha amabilidad y en todo momento se ha mostrado disponible y más que predispuesto. Nos regaló momentos únicos de su tiempo, en los que con un máximo de entusiasmo nos relató las leyendas e historias de este excepcional lugar. El Castillo está alejado del mundo real, escondido entre montañas y como perdido en el tiempo...realmente tuvimos la sensación de adentrarnos en la historia, remota y no tan remota, puesto que hasta no hace demasiadas décadas algunas de las dependencias del castillo fueron usadas como escuela. Si lo que se busca es tranquilidad i fascinación por el pasado, en este mágico lugar se encuentra sin duda alguna. El castillo está cerca de Ripoll, a una media hora en coche y desde allí el visitante perdido en el tiempo se puede reencontrar con la modernidad. Las vistas que se tienen desde allí arriba son excepcionales y son muchos los lugares escondidos que esperaran para ser visitados. El castillo esta limpio y completamente equipado para vivir con las comodidades del siglo XXI pero en un espació del siglo X. Sin duda alguna ha sido una experiencia única y que pronto o tarde vamos a repetir. Muchisimas gracias de corazón, Marc, por tu tiempo y tus palabras.

Einmalige Lokalität!

Saubere und gut ausgestattete Ferienwohnung und super netter Vermieter. WLAN funktioniert gut und die Gerätschaften in Küche und CO sind top für eine Ferienwohnung. Das Schloss ist recht abgelegen und man benötigt ein Auto - Dafür hat man seine Ruhe und der Erholfaktor ist hoch. Sehr gerne wieder. Vielen Dank Marc!

I spent five weeks at the Castell de Llaes, the last week of July and the entire month of August 2016. It was truly a magical experience. The Castell itself is magnificent and the views are breathtaking. My stay was so incredible in large part due to the exceptional care and attention my host, Marc provided me. He went far beyond what was expected to assure all my needs were met. I fell in love with Marc and his dogs, Bruc and Dora. I so enjoyed my morning walks exploring the surroundings and coming upon new discoveries each day. I had groups of family and friends come join me at the Castell for different weeks during my extended stay. Everyone had a marvelous time. The location was fabulous and so many great places to see within an easy drive: Barcelona and it's sites, Monestir de Montserrat, charming village of Ripoll, the medieval village of Besalu, Pyrenees drive into France, Girona, Salvador Dali museum in Figueres. Posto incantevole

Posto veramente incantevole e proprietari gentilissimi. Ho passato una settimana bellissima con la famiglia. Vero che è un po' sperduto, ma era quello che volevamo. Il ristorante tipico a 1 km è bello e la cucina è ottima e si possono fare passeggiate gite a piedi alle vicine baumes. In macchinasiam stati anche a Torroella de Montgrì, Barcellona, ma anche Castelfollit de la Roca e Olot e i suoi vulcanetti vale la pena

"Recomiendo la estancia en "El Castell". Ideal tanto para familias con niños como para personas que quieran disfrutar de una tranquila estancia rodeados de naturaleza y en unos aposentos extraordinarios y totalmente equipados. La ubicación y paraje son excepcionales, con vista a los Pirineos desde el jardín. La hospitalidad y trato de los dueños hace que la estancia aún resulte mucho más agradable."
