Relax and unwind at one of our beautiful holiday cottages which are situated in the hillfoots, within a 5 minute walk from the village of Alva.

Our cottages are all situated within our grounds and have wonderful views of Wallace Monument and the magnificent Ochil hills.

The cottage exceeded our expectations in every way. The rooms and furnishings were all comfortable. The ambiance and light was excellent and it was convenient to the town of Alva as well as the local attractions of Stirling, Falkirk, and Edinburgh.

Charming cottage in Alva

We were a family party of 3 on vacation in Scotland. We chose Boll Cottage for its proximity to historical sites near and in Stirling. The property manager, Gemma, was very communicative before and during our stay, which was helpful. The home is conveniently located in Alva and we were able to walk easily to the town center for grocery items and to some restaurants. We were also able to easily access some hiking spots in Alva from the home. The property was clean and as shown in the photos on the site. It was well equipped with items needed during a stay. Our stay was quite comfortable. The front garden area is lovely and the views from the garden are lovely as well. Gemma recommended some places to eat, particularly No. 5 Inn in Alva, and Bar Aldo's in Alloa, and these were excellent. Stirling is a short drive away and has lots of history to offer, as well as being a nice town to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Boll Cottage and recommend it to others. Gemma is an excellent host.

Beautiful Cottage

This was one of our favorite accommodations over our two week trip to Scotland. The cottage had a wonderful wood burning stove that helped take the chill out of a damp October night. The location was easy walking distance to restaurants in Alva and convenient to sites in Stirling and Falkirk. We found Gemma to be a very attentive host.

Enjoyable Country Place

We enjoyed our stay. The property was beautiful and all the amenities were there. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms very accommodating. All rooms spotless and bright. Enjoyed going into the town, the No.5 was fabulous, and the hand pies from the bakery, delicious! It is located in between Edinburgh and Glasgow, a perfect location to be able to visit both cities throughout the week. A trip to St. Andrew’s was as easy as could be from this location. Definitely worth your while to come to Boll Cottage and stay awhile!

Lovely Countryside Cottage

What a wonderful stay in Scotland! The Boll Cottage was perfectly located for travel around the country. Alva is a great little community and we enjoyed getting to know the locals, including our host Gemma. Cherished Lifelong memories were made!

Gemütliches Haus

Das Ferienhaus ist geschmackvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet. Die Lage am Ortsrand von Alva macht es zu einem guten Ausgangspunkt, um Edinburgh und die Umgebung zu erkunden. Auch Outlander-Fans kommen hier voll auf ihre Kosten, da einige Drehorte in dieser Gegend sind. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gab es in kurzer Distanz. Der Kontakt mit der Vermieterin, Gemma, war sehr angenehm. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen.

Top Class

From being kept updated on information, local attractions by Gemma, then a great friendly welcome. Cottage was spotless and more than we could have wished for, even some sheep rustling on 1 morning (helping return the escaped sheep from across the road) overall excellent and couldn’t fault anything. Great Cottage

We stayed 4 nights in Alva which is very convenient to Stirling and Falkirk. Took the train for the day from Stirling to Edinburgh which was easy and convenient. Cottage was perfect for the 4 of us.

Perfect location

I was pleasantly surprised with how wonderful the property was and what a great location. Was very quiet and beautifully decorated. No hassles with anything. Host was very easy to work with. I will stay here again when I return and tell all my friends of this perfect home away from home.

Perfect cottage in a central location

My friend and I stayed here for a few days while visiting Scotland from the USA. The cottage is beautiful, clean, comfortable, and well stocked. We were able to easily drive to castles and mountains. Gemma was great!

Wonderful stay in Alva

We chose Boll Cottage for its proximity to hiking, fishing and easy drive to St. Andrews for The Open Championship. We walked to Alva Glen every day for exercise. Simply great! Gemma was a perfect host and the cottage was excellent in every way. After our busy days of sight seeing and hiking, it was a lovely quiet place to return to. The only downside was that the Village of Alva is currently undergoing a renovation so there's not the quantity or quality of shops, restaurants and pubs as there are in some of the other villages. Hopefully, the renovation will attract more quests.

On the Wallace trail

Well located for exploring Stirlingshire and surrounding area! Can see Wallace tower from yard. Easy walk to town. Gemma was very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend!
