Large detached house

Kashentroch is warm and spacious with a dining room seating 12, a large sitting room leading to an outdoor seating area surrounded by woods and a smaller, comfy TV room with log burning fire. The well-equipped kitchen also has a large table for eating at. The bedrooms are all light and spacious, two of which have ensuite bathrooms and there are 2 further bathrooms and downstairs WC. One of the downstairs double bedrooms has a bed that is on chains so it gently swings like a hammock. It is wonderful to sleep in but not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. The bar can be stocked by request. It has wood floors throughout and a wood pellet heating system making it cosy all year round. There is a large utility/boot room with washing machine and drier whilst outside there is access to a tennis court, squash court and extensive private grounds for outdoor games.

Wonderful setting for family reunion

It was a real treat to arrive here after a long journey. It is a beautiful, modern house in an idyllic setting. We had ample room to spread out and accommodate our large extended family. Everything was spotless. Vinnie showed my sister around and was responsive to all our questions and requests throughout the stay. We will cherish our memories of this house forever! Highly recommended!

Beautiful Deeside

We had an absolutely wonderful vacation in Scotland. This property was perfect for our family and get togethers with our family in Aberdeen. It was also easy and close for traveling to central Scotland and the highlands. Vin and family are wonderful and made everything easy!! Hope to be back.

Perfect Gathering Spot

We throughly enjoyed our stay! My husband, children and I were visiting from the US to see both sides of my family. We were able to host our relatives for dinners, the kids enjoyed playing outside on the beautiful grounds with their cousins, and the house had lots of extra space so that we could have overnight guests during our stay. I would definitely return again and my only suggestion would be that the swing bed be relocated to another room as we weren’t able to make good use of that space and en suite.

April 2023 stay

We were family and friends of 10 staying for a week for a family wedding in the area. The property was a perfect choice for us, lots of space, bedrooms and bathrooms for all of us. It is located in its own grounds and very secluded. The house and gardens are maintained to a high standard, and the house is equipped with everything we needed to cater for the whole group. It was wet and cold weather wise but the house was very warm and comfortable. The host was there to welcome us and show us how everything worked and also very promptly answered any questions we had during the week. We have no complaints about our stay at all and would recommend the property unreservedly. The whole family spanning three generations (and the dog) all had a great stay.

Fsntastic house in amazing location!

Property was everything we could have hoped for and more. Spacious and well equipped, clean and comfortable. Suited our family group perfectly with great outdoor space for children and dog to play. Excellent walks without getting in the car and access to the Deeside Way. We’re already earmarking it for a return trip! P.s. hanging bed takes a little getting used but was fine - may not be to everyone’s taste.

Fettes family in Kashentroch

Superb property full of memorabilia from Crathes Castle. Very well appointed and wonderfully situated. Could do with easier shower facilities as only one was walk in and that in the room with the swinging bed , so not ideal for elderly or handicapped. Ensuring adequate hot water at key times was a challenge, but overall a fantastic house for a large family group.

Tranquil Setting

From booking to finish this was one of the best holiday lets we have had. Superb property set in such beautiful grounds. This property is so well equipped with ever thing the larger family would need. Very homely property . We had our 4 grandchildren with us ages 11-6 and the grounds were excellent, lots of scope for the kids to roam and they had an absolute ball den building etc. Ideal location for walking . Would certainly recommend. Thank you Vinny for such a fantastic break.

Spacious well equipped accommodation in a beautiful setting

Have just spent a very relaxing week with extended family ranging in age from 12-83yrs & this accommodation suited everyone in our party & is set in beautiful grounds which I feel would stunning in all seasons. The layout with 2 lounge areas plus an outside space, 2 dining/eating options & a spacious well equipped kitchen for food prep meant there was plenty space for all & options for everyone to take time out or be together as required. The bedrooms were bright, clean & spacious with lots of storage for longer stays & a good selection of bathrooms to suit all needs. The host & housekeeper were extremely helpful with all aspects of our stay. Our only observation regarding the appointment of the bedrooms is that the suspended bed in the 2nd master bedroom might not be for everyone and therefore might prove restrictive if your party members suffer from motion sickness. Otherwise we would have no hesitation in highly recommending this fantastic accommodation & would hope to be able to revisit in future.

The perfect holiday house!

Welcoming hosts and space made this a wonderful place to stay. The local amenities in Banchory can be reached in minutes by car and to be able to easily walk to three delicious places to eat from somewhere so utterly private and rural is impressive. Definitely a place to return to.

Fabulous holiday

We've agreed this was the best family holiday ever! We ranged in ages from 87 to 13, plus dog, and stayed a week in late June. The house was fabulous and more like an upmarket hotel. Loads of space, quirky family pieces, paintings, copious amounts of hot water, underfloor heating, large private garden.... I could go on and on. It's a ten minute walk to Crathes Castle and its beautiful gardens. Raemoir garden centre do lovely lunches. Banchory has several good private shops. Kids and adults alike loved the unlimited access to the private tennis court, football field and squash court. What stood out most was the kindness of the hosts, the space, and the freedom. Plus the weather was gorgeous. We're checking our diaries to see when we can book again. As the first holiday guests, we're sure this house is going to become extremely popular, and we can't wait to come back.
