A charming 4 bedroom house (8) set amidst the idyllic surroundings of Temple House Estate. A bright, cheerful, full fitted kitchen looks on to a private garden with farmland beyond. The house is warm and cosy, boosted by a lovely wood burning stove. Free WiFi. Free boating on the lake and miles of walks to enjoy across the lush sheep pasture, native woodland and bog.

A charming self catering detached house set on a 1,000-acre estate surrounded by beautiful farm land, just 10 minutes off the Wild Atlantic Way.

The cottage is extremely comfortable, offering a traditional wood burning stove in the sitting room. The large bright fitted kitchen with dining area provides everything you need to enjoy home cooking and the four bedrooms allow for flexible accommodation. FREE WiFi

During your stay you will be able to enjoy the estate, which offers on-site boating on the lake, coarse fishing, bird watching, a ruined Knights Templar castle and miles of walking opportunities. The poet W B Yeats was inspired by this beautiful county. - you will see why.

The gardeners cottage review

We enjoyed our time at the gardeners cottage. It was roomy, inviting and had plenty of hot water and a quiet setting. The owners were amazing and gave us a tour of their castle and access to walk their grounds and see two other old ruins on their property. The only thing we would suggest is to have fans in the bedrooms as the week we stayed was one of Ireland’s hottest. You’ll enjoy it!

Amazing rural getaway

This cottage is in the middle of a forest which is surrounded by a sheep pasture. You can also take the opportunity to walk around outside of Templehouse and the ruined knights templar castle that is on the property there. It was a unique and wonderful experience that I would highly recommend!

Perfect comfort and serenity in beautiful surroundings

We have stayed here before and highly recommend staying on this beautiful estate in a tranquil cottage which has everything you need. Our host Roderick is so helpful and nothing is a bother. Hope to visit again.

Peace and tranquility

Spent 3 nights at the cottage. Great facilities in a beautiful setting. You coukd easily spend a couple of days here without leaving although there is so much to see within a short drive of the cottage. We had a lovely time and would definitely return again.

We will greet you at the big house , which we run as a historic Country House B&B, and explain how you can enjoy the estate grounds. We will then personally take you down to the cottage which is situated 500m in the centre of our beautiful farmland to show you the ropes.
