Location: Algajola is a popular seaside resort in Haute-Corse, between Calvi and Ile Rousse. It’s small seaside village with a charming fishing port and a fortress overlooking the sea. There are also the remains of the ancient Phoenician city on which it is built.

The fortified castle of Algajola, built at the beginning of the 16th century and listed as a historic monument is worth seeing, as is the small port of San Damiano, the citadel, and the Chapel of Saint Michael built on the coast in the 12th century. In Algajola there is a large beach that stretches for more than a kilometre then two small beaches less known and quieter.
