Tron Square [419] is a Cosy and bright 2 bedroom apartment in the heart of Old Town.

This lovely second floor, two bedroom apartment is located in a quiet square only a minutes’ walk from the Cow Gate and the Royal Mile in the heart of Edinburgh’s Historic Old Town close to many of Edinburgh’s most visited tourist attractions and the bustling centre of the Edinburgh Fringe. The attractive second floor apartment has been recently redecorated and furnished and makes a perfect base for visitors to Edinburgh. The characteristic alleyways of the area also house a fantastic selection of cafes, bars, shops and restaurants.

The front door of the apartment opens into a bright hall way, on the right is a very spacious living/dining room with a large bow window overlooking the square. Seating is grouped round the old fireplace and furnished with a comfortable sofa and leather sofa bed, for flexibility of sleeping arrangements. There is a large modern dining table and plenty of seating should you wish to eat at home.

The small kitchen is located off the living room and is well equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, and plenty of glass ware, china, cutlery and cookware.

The main bedroom is furnished with a double bed, two bed side tables and lamps and a chest of drawers.

The second bedroom has twin beds, bed side tables, and a wardrobe.

A family bathroom with bath and shower over, a toilet and wash hand basin completes the accommodation.


Sleeping Arrangements

One double bedroom and one twin bedroom. There is also a sofa bed for flexibility of sleeping arrangements.

Perfect location, clean comfortable accommodations.

One block off the Royal Mile and easy walk to Waverley Station and all transportation. Suite was well equipped allowing us to cook at home for some meals and do laundry as needed.

Terrific apartment.

A very good central location. Just know have stairs from the street to reach the "square" I enjoyed my stay.

Staying in the centre of Edinburgh

This apartment is a great place to stay in Edinburgh. A couple of minutes away from the High Street and still not too loud. It has pretty much everything needed for a nice stay.

Tron Square was a super comfortable flat. We had a family of 4 and there was more than enough ammenities to keep us all happy. And the location can't be beat. Just a quick hike up the Close on the upper level and you are immediatly on the Royal Mile. The biggest hiccup was the quality of the beds. You can feel every spring. But other than that, we were super satisfied.

Nice place

Everything was good, comfy beds, could use blackout blinds and paper towel and kleenex, but overall a good experience. Anyone with trouble climbing alot stairs may need to try something lower to ground floor. 👍

Perfect Home Away from Home in Edinburgh

This was the perfect property to serve as base for our family of 4. We spent 3 nights at 419 and loved it. Nice large living area and kitchen. Very clean. 2 bedrooms. Windows that opened to let in breeze. Towels, sheets, a fully stocked kitchen, etc. Plus very close to shops, coffee, Royal Mile, pubs and other places to explore. Would absolutely stay here again when we return to town.

old town stay

Location was great. It started with a little confusion since we start with 1st floor, not ground so took a bit to find our apartment. The apartment looks like the photos. We were expecting a dryer versus a clothesline but it all worked out fine.

The beds were uncomfortable. We could feel the coils in the mattress. The night light by the door stayed on all night and we were awoken by the loud noises for people leaving the bar. We ran out of toilet paper. Some extra throws on the living room would have made curling up on the couches cozier. Some face cloths would also have bee appreciated. The space was very clean and the location was fantastic.
Better be fit, had to climb to the third level to access to apartment.

Edinburgh Vacation

This property worked fine for our Scotland holiday. Location was good for us. Close to everything in Edinburgh. Within walking distance of attractions.Plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. 15 minutes to the train station and bus depot. Only downside was that the rental is in a valley so every day started with an uphill walk. Probably not for anyone with mobility issuues.

Cosy flat in ideal location

A well appointed flat in an ideal location - 2 minute walk from Royal Mile, 5 minutes from Edinburgh Castle and 10 minutes from Princes Street and the station. There is a wide choice of cafes and restaurants within a 10 minute walk. We came for the Fringe and the flat was 5 -10 minutes walk from venues at Surgeon's Hall, Pleasance, Assembly and the Gilded Balloon so in a perfect location for us. The flat was clean, well decorated and had a modern kitchen and bathroom.

It was nice to have a bigger place to stay as a family of 4. The separate rooms that had actual beds rather than a fold out couch for the kids was great. It was spacious enough that we could get away from each other after spending a 5 day bus tour crammed into smaller rooms. The place was bright and clean. Great instructions were left for us. There was a new security gate installed the day we were there, so we didn't have the code for it, but a quick call solved that. They were very responsive and good at communicating. I would recommend this place to stay at while in Edinburgh.

Great Property and Location

My daughter and I spent a week here in the process of moving her from US to Scotland to attend veterinary school. The entire arrival/stay/departure process was clearly explained in advance and the flat is lovely, with all amenities we needed. The location is great; everything was within walking distance. My daughter had recent ankle surgery and the big bathtub helped her to relax and do her PT exercises after long days discovering her new home. I was especially impressed with the responsiveness of the property managers both in advance of our arrival and when we couldn’t locate the COVID test kits delivered before our arrival. I’d stay here again. Highly recommend!

A quaint place to call home in a prime location.

A family of 4 traveled to Edinburgh from Hawai’i island to support our island high school’s theatrical performances at the Fringe Festival 2023. This flat was located in the perfect location with access to many venues. Unfortunately, one family member suffered a knee injury en route to our destination making the 3 flights of stairs a bit challenging. We powered through it and the flat provided everything we needed. The only recommendation would be the benefits of a washer/dryer system for laundry. It took days to dry in the flat, and a 6 night stay required quick wash and dry options. Over-all it was a memorable experience with comfortable accomodations.

Clean, comfortable and well located.

The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and well appointed. The location made it easy to get to all the attractions, from the castle to the palace. It is a block from the Royal Mile. We wished there had been a clothes dryer. Also more than one towel each for a six night stay. The one major drawback was the noise from all the bars on Cowgate, the street that fronts Tron Square. It is extremely loud in the front bedroom and not noticable in the back bedroom. The bars don't close until 3 AM. Don't book here for Friday or Saturday nights unless you're planning to be out partying yourself. Weeknights were fine.

Two bedroom apartment in the heart of Old Edinburgh

We really loved our stay in this apartment. The instructions on how to find the unit were bang on, which was really helpful since we arrived late in the day. The unit was clean and tidy, and had everything we needed, the book provided on how to work 'stuff' was helpful. The location was great - it was so easy to walk up the 'Close' at either end of the square to get to the Royal Mile. Walking along Cowgate was great too, and provided easy access to the Grassmarket and the Museum. The unit was spacious, so it was really nice to have some room to move around so freely. We were thankful to be able to make our own breakfasts, and we had take-away for dinner one night too, great to relax after walking the cobblestones all day. Thanks for sharing your unit, we really enjoyed having this as our home base for exploring Edinburgh!

This was a charming property with the perfect amount of space for 3 adults. I only had a few issues. There is no air conditioning, which would have been fine if there had been a fan provided but there wasn't. You can not drive into the square so you have to carry luggage from the street up stairs into the square, then the 3 flights up to the apartment. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, this could easily be fixed with a cushy mattress topper.

Pros and cons - Pros: - the lovely, helpful Davide, sorted out our issue in a pragmatic, can do manner - thank you, it meant a lot. - bright apartment, central location, spacious bedrooms, plenty of wardrobe space, well equipped kitchen. - good communication prior to our stay. - the apartment was in a well lit area. Cons - - some areas of the apartment are definitely in need of updating or renewing. - the check in policy is not customer focused. - the poor service we received when we rang the helpline. The woman who answered our call was rude, unprofessional, unhelpful, belligerent and accused me of trying to blackmail her. The woman (she did not give her name when she answered the phone, nor any professional salutation to open the call, no evidence of professional telephone behaviour at all) should not be in a customer facing role.

Julie turned up at the apartment before 12pm having been told that check in could not be before 3pm. She asked to leave her bags in the apartment. I explained to her that this was not possible but that there were luggage storage facilities in the station. We don't allow guests to leave their luggage in the property before check in for the health and safety of both guests and staff and also for the security of their belongings. Julie then said that if we didn't let her store her bags she would leave us a bad review. The company belongs to me and my business partner and I am afraid I would stick to the policy of not being blackmailed by the threat of a bad review. Davide allowed the guest in because he is still relatively inexperienced within the company. He wasn't feeling very well that morning - let us hope that he didn't share his illness with Julie. I would not recommend her as a guest.

A great little base to explore the city

Once we'd got our bearings, the flat was easy to find and access. The slope down from the high street is VERY steep, which was no issue for us but might be for others. You really are just a few minutes from the High St, which meant no more than 10 minutes from the Castle/Victoria Street, maybe 20 minutes from Princes St and trams/buses to the airport/zoo. The flat itself was basically equipped; the kitchen had enough crockery etc for 3 of us for a few days. There are other basics there too such as soap, washing up liquid and dishwasher tabs. Oven gloves would be useful, but that might not bother other guests if they eat out every night. The area that the flat was in was quiet at this time of year, but I imagine in the summer - with windows open - could be different as there's a live music venue just down the road. Bedding and towels provided were clean and comfortable. One thing I will say is that all of the bedroom furniture has seen better days; for this specific reason, I didn't bother unpacking so as not to do battle with the drawers!. Also the bed in the double room could be bigger but that's just a preference, as we kept rolling right into each other in the night! Overall, the location was so ideal for us and we would be happy to return in the future.
