We had an unforgettable stay at Casa Tropical near Manuel Antonio! The home is surrounded by incredible wildlife—during our visit we saw squirrel monkeys, capuchin monkeys, macaws, toucans, parrots, agoutis, a gladiator frog, iguanas, hummingbirds, and more. It felt like living in a nature documentary! The house itself is spacious, well-equipped, and beautifully maintained. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms for everyone to be comfortable, and the air conditioning in the bedrooms worked perfectly—cool and refreshing. The pool has been updated from the photos and is even more stunning in person, a perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. One unexpected gem was the library—something for everyone to read. Then there are plenty of peaceful spots around the home to unwind and read during our stay. The road up to the house is much easier to navigate than many others in the area, which made coming and going fairly hassle-free.Andres, the host, was incredibly welcoming. He greeted us upon arrival, walked us through everything the home had to offer (including how to call birds and other wildlife!), arranged our National Park tour, and offered great suggestions for other activities.Casa Tropical was the perfect home base for our Costa Rican adventure—comfortable, inspiring, and full of life in every sense. If we ever get an opportunity to come back, we will look no further than Casa Tropical.
