A Very Spacious Cottage in a Beautiful Location - near Quantock Hills & Exmoor

Mill Pond Cottage is the perfect location to relax and enjoy a self catering farm stay in our beautiful Quantock farm, nestled in the valley beside a relaxing lily pond and beautiful gardens.

Once you leave the road you enter the farm drive and taken half a mile into the centre of the farm with a spectacular approach and views of complete tranquility.

Vellow Wood Farm is on the edge of the renowned Quantock Hills which offers superb walking great local food and plenty of Exmoor's famous Red Deer to be seen.

However we encourage wildlife in every form on our farm and create wonderful habitats for us all to enjoy. We have great walks around the farm and our woodlands are very pretty especially in the spring with the carpet of blue bells and old cider orchard along with shelter belts for bees and small birds.

We also have a Full size Tennis Court for those that are keen (rackets and balls supplied).

Mill Pond Cottage has its own garden with plenty of space to relax beside the stream whilst over looking the loverly lily pond.

Mill Pond Cottage has the following amenities

2 Bedroom consisting of 1 x Double and 1 x Twin.

2 Bathrooms one with Bath and one with shower

Large galley kitchen

Essential Boot Room from side entrance

Good sized Lounge and dining area over looking the pond, large TV and Alexa

Front Entrance with hallway

Leading to breakfast room and ensuite bathroom

Stairs leading to two large bedrooms and one with shared bathroom

Outside large yard with 2 bay parking in open fronted barn

Leading to a private Garden and BBQ

Undercover Ping Pong table and seating area.

We are a working farm and specialise in hay for the equine market so we are a nice quite and clean farm with beautiful meadows, though always plenty going on.

Pond House is within easy reach of the beautiful village of Stogumber with a pub and local shop/post office and also the larger town of Williton just 2 miles away with Co-op, Spar, butcher, bakery, fish and chip shop and very good Indian restaurant. We are spoilt for choice with some fantastic pub/restaurants nearby too.

There is good unlimited Wifi available in the cottage.

Beautiful walks direct from the cottage, we have plenty of maps to help you plan your day. We are also within very easy reach of the West Somerset Steam Railway which you can often here from the cottage with stops at both Stogumber and Williton.

Excellent all round

Our second visit and just as good as before. Pond Cottage is homely, comfortable and warm; though in the centre of the farm it is peaceful and has a beautiful setting in the valley. Well located to visit the Quantocks, the Brendon Hills and beyond. The occasional whistle reminds you that the West Somerset trains are no distance away. This visit we made time to explore the farm paths from which there are delightful views to the Quantocks and which skirt a variety of different crops and wind through tranquil woodlands. If you wish to leave the milling crowds and noisy traffic, you can't do better than here.

Wonderful cottage in a great location.

Amazing property, well equipped, clean and very comfortable. Location is perfect for quiet getaways with access to the quantocks, Brendon hills and exmoor plus the coast.

Lovely holiday cottage & location

Everything you needed was included in the property, very clean and comfortable, spacious. It was in a lovely location plenty of walks and things to do in area. Not really close to a shop so come prepared. Care with sat nav as did take us to a property on other side of field (bit difficult to reverse) aim for Vellow and go from there Overall a lovely relaxing stay with our family which included our dog..

Beautiful !

A really lovely house, spacious and bright but also warm and cosy, in a glorious location. Well equipped and beautifully decorated. Comfortable beds and perfect peace at night. The farmyard is so interesting with its beautiful old stone barns and the pond is a joy. Excellent hosts; Nicola was patient and helpful before pre- arrival and we received a cheerful welcome from Julian. We were only sorry that we could not stay longer this time.

Delightful cottage, idyllic location, great hosts

We had a fantastic time at Pond House, the location is great for exploring the Quantocks and Exmoor. The cottage is very well equipped and feels so homely. The hosts were lovely and gave us great opportunities to experience farm life. Highly recommend.

Excellent all round

The property is a first-class conversion of a former farm building, spacious, comfortable, warm, and homely. Nicola has equipped it exceptionally well, and very kindly welcomed us with a home-baked cake. It was good to stay in the centre of a working farm with activity around us, but at no inconvenience to us. The valley setting is delightful and we wish we had a little more time to explore the local area more fully. Clearly a return visit is envisaged.

Fabulous holiday in a perfect cottage

This was the most wonderful place to stay. We were on a farm with fantastic views. It was so lovely seeing the horses go past our kitchen window. We stayed in Pond house,which l believe to be a barn conversion. I cannot fault this beautiful holiday house. We give it a 5 star! We hope to return again soon.

ldyllic location and brilliant accomodation. Don't miss out.

We cannot recommend Pond House highly enough. Everything about our stay was great. On arrival the view down the drive to the property is breathtaking. Pond House itself is a striking stand alone accomodation, which is immaculately clean and offers everything you need for the stay. The location is quiet, secluded and beautiful. There is easy access to walking routes within or straight from the farm. Very close by to the coast, the Quantock Hills and Exmoor. Julian and Nicola are fantastic hosts. They made us feel really welcome and offered good advice on places to visit or have a meal. You would be hard pushed to find a better place

Incredible Hosts, Incredible Venue!!!

I wanted to wait a few days after my departure for my feet to touch the ground before reviewing this truly amazing venue. From the start, Nicola and Julian were very communicative. Throughout the entire booking process, they answered any and all questions I had regarding our stay. After such lovely correspondence, it was so nice to meet the kind and warm family in person. And Wow! Pond House! The absolutely stunning photos on here honestly do not capture just how breathtaking the cottage and entire farm are. The cottage is incredibly child friendly and had little toys tucked away to occupy my young kids! It’s simply a gorgeous scenic 20 min drive to the beach, aquarium/zoo, historical sites, and more. There’s so much to do and see on the farm itself. It’s a dream getaway for singles, couples, families or groups. My solitary veeerrryy cheeky wish is that they install a hot tub 👙before our next stay! It’s perfect!! Book it now!! We sure will again soon.

A lovely house in beautiful surroundings

We spent a lovely week staying at this property which was new to the holiday rental market. It was beautifully clean and well equipped. We were greeted to a warm welcome from the owners Julian and Nicola and there was a delicious cake left for us on the dining table. The cottage is comfortable and tastefully decorated with everything you need to cook if you decide to eat in. There is a small courtyard to the side of the property which gets all day sun. The view across the pond is delightful and there is a covered barn area with a table tennis table and fire pit to use and a nearby garden and tennis court. The cottage is situated in the middle of a working farm but everyone who works there is sensitive to your privacy whilst making sure you have everything you need and happy to give helpful recommendations about what to do and see in the area. There are lots of lovely things to explore. It’s close to the coast and incredibly picturesque and peaceful yet within close proximity to many amenities and great places to eat. We would thoroughly recommend this property and understand that further renovations are planned over the winter which will make it even more lovely!
