HaagsDuinhuis, a family vacation home with 2 bathrooms and a sauna in the Hague Dunes

Our family vacation home, Haags Duinhuis, is located 600 meters from the beach, along the path leading to the beach.

The house is tastefully and comfortably furnished. Upon entering the entryway, a staircase leads upstairs to two bedrooms, each with two beds, a bathroom with a toilet and shower, and a separate sauna. There are child safety gates at the top and bottom of the stairs. The house is therefore equipped for families with (young) children.

In the downstairs entryway, you’ll find the toilet and the door to the open-concept kitchen and living room. The living room has French doors leading to the sunny southwest-facing terrace. It’s a great spot to relax, sheltered from the wind, well into the late hours. If the sun gets a bit too strong, there’s a second terrace behind the house, nestled in the woods. Here, you can also catch the first rays of morning sun while enjoying a delicious breakfast.

For when the sun isn’t shining quite as brightly, the living room features a fireplace and a Smart TV. Adjacent to the kitchen is the third bedroom with a double bed and an en suite bathroom. This bathroom has both a shower and a bathtub.

Haags Duinhuis is located in Kijkduinpark, which offers many amenities. You can pick up fresh bread rolls at the small supermarket. If you don’t feel like swimming in the sea, you can swim in the indoor pool. The kids can go to Koos Konijn’s Kids Club; there’s a restaurant, and you can hit a few balls on the tennis court. Of course, there are also many playgrounds in the park. The first one is just 50 meters from the vacation home.

Next to Kijkduinpark is the Ockenburgh Golf Course.

On the beach, in addition to simply sunbathing, you can also go kitesurfing and, when the wind is strong, fly kites. You can walk to the family beach resort of Kijkduin in 15 minutes via the beach or the beach road. Cycling and hiking in the dunes and the surrounding nature reserves are also delightful on the well-maintained trails. The Hague city center is 9 km from Kijkduinpark. The Hague is, of course, a must-visit for the Mauritshuis, the Peace Palace, the Binnenhof, the King’s working palace, and the charming shopping streets.

It accommodates up to 6 guests; a baby crib can be added to the rooms upon request.

Any open slots in the calendar can be filled with stays shorter than 3 nights upon request!

PLEASE NOTE:

Haags Duinhuis II is a comfortable, clean, detached 3-bedroom vacation home in Kijkduinpark. It is located 500 meters from the sea in the dunes of The Hague.

Its sister property, Haags Duinhuis I, is right next door. Both feature a fully equipped kitchen, a terrace facing south and east, a fireplace, 2 bathrooms with 2 toilets, a sauna, and are both smoke-free and pet-free.

The houses are identically situated and comfortably furnished.

It’s an ideal vacation home for families with (young) children or (older) couples looking for a comfortable stay. The house serves as a quiet base for trips to the beach or for visiting cities such as The Hague, Delft, Rotterdam, Leiden, or Amsterdam.

Our first house was renovated in November 2015 and underwent a second round of renovations in November 2017. The second house was completely renovated in November 2017.
