Situated in the popular Penmaenpool home to the grade II listed, wooden toll bridge, this amazing Toll bridge was built in 1879 across the tidal Mawddach Estuary at Penmaenpool. The toll bridge is still in use today, linking the coastal towns of Tywyn and Barmouth in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. The Mawddach Trail walking and cycle path passes here, and follows the route of the old railway line from Dolgellau to Barmouth; cycle hire is available in both Dolgellau and Barmouth.

Also adjacent is the RSPB bird hide, a great place for watching birds out on the estuary. If you can bear to tear yourself away from this perfect location, the bustling market town of Dolgellau home to an abundance of eateries, welcoming pubs and I dependant shops. The beaches of Barmouth and Fairbourne are well worth a visit, as are the nearby Fairbourne Railway and Talyllyn Railway. Beach 7 miles.
