Just across the road Monreith Beach is a long sandy beach. Popular in the summer months for swimmers and for fishing throughout the year and when the tide is out you can walk along the beach for miles. For the golfers amongst you St Medans Golf Club is just a mile away on the shores of Luce Bay. Set on a hilly peninsula with wonderful scenery and panoramic sea views this 9-hole course offers an interesting and challenging game for both novice and experienced golfers alike. With walking routes in abundance from Clarksburn Blue you might not find the time to explore further afield as the coastline and inland routes are popular at any time of year.

Surrounded by breath taking scenery Clarksburn Blue offers the ideal base from which to explore the Machars Peninsula and inland, the Galloway hills. Just a few miles along the coast is the village of Port William where you will find a shop and Café. There are many beautiful gardens to visit, including the world-renowned Logan Botanical Gardens. As well as Port William you can also explore quaint villages such as Sandhead, Portpatrick and the Isle of Whithorn.
