Stunning Church Conversion located near to Kelso, Scottish Borders

The Old Village Hall is a stunning conversion which it totally unique. Originally built in 1834 as the local Free Church and later known as the local village hall, it has recently been converted and restored into a stylish contemporary home located in Nenthorn, just 3 miles north of Kelso.

The Old Village Hall sleeps up to 6 people in three spacious bedrooms, consisting of the main bedroom with king size double bed and en-suite bathroom and a further two double bedrooms with double beds.

Very good, very clean and spacious in a beautiful area. One or two very minor points. Settee bit uncomfortable, no recycling info and rooms a bit dark. Overall, a great holiday venue and would totally recommend.

Gorgeous place and location. Very high spec bathrooms and kitchen. Loads of space. We went for a wedding so didn't spend lots of time in the property but we were able to cook our dinner every day we were there without being on top of each other. Fabulous stay

Gorgeous accommodation

The property was situated in a small hamlet about a 10 minute drive from Kelso. The accommodation was beautiful and spacious with everything you might need. Beds comfy, sofa not so much. We used a local taxi and got a takeaway delivered one night. Lovely accommodation in a quiet aetting.

Family trip

This place was fantastic. Location was great to visit all the towns nearby. The house was nicely furnished with all the amenities. Lots of space to move around. The last evening was chilly so we had a fire and it really warmed the place up!

Beautiful Property in the Countryside

A great experience from the booking all the way through to checkout. This property has been fantastically modernized with beautiful features and comfortable accommodations. We especially enjoyed the kitchen and living room. Only a few miles from Kelso where we grabbed breakfast each morning. Loved staying here and hope to return.

Lovely property

Wonderful renovation! Extremely comfortable property with lots of space. Well equipped and near to Kelso. Need a car to get around and could do with heavier curtains in the bedrooms but overall a great place.

Amazing property

The property and host was amazing. Contact with host was superb and prompt. Property was stunning! I only marked location one star off as there wasn’t much in walking distance but that’s great for those who want peace and quiet. Would use this again for defo!

Great House

The house was beautiful and extremely clean. The owner and the house keeping crew were very friendly. We thought we were going to be in the village based on the walking distances stated on the listing however nothing was in walking distance. The area and the village of Kelso are very charming a beautiful.

Amazing property

We enjoyed a lovely long weekend in the Old Village Hall, the property is immaculate, with a definite wow factor and has everything we needed and more. We had great sleeps, and found everything really comfortable. The personal touches from the owner made it all the more special. What a lovely place to stay right next to Kelso and as a base for the beautiful borders towns. Loved it !

Great short break

Lovely property which the photographs did not do justice! The very large living area meant lots of space for our 10 month old grandson to explore. (A lovely touch was the gift for hi. Left with the welcome pack. What a lovely, generous gesture.) The bedrooms were beautifully furnished and very comfortable. All in all an amazing stay.

New year Break

This property is just perfect , beautiful and stunning refurb of the old town hall . The pictures don’t do it justice. Living area is lovely as well with the log burner. Bedrooms Rooms stunning and with 3 bathrooms just spoilt for choice . Kitchen area was also perfect only slight negative comment and this is me just being picky as we cooked every day there was the selection of kitchen knifes these could maybe be looked at but apart from that stunning we all loved the break .

Stayed to be part of an organised trip to fish the Tweed. Really beautiful conversation of a village hall. All done to a high standard. Lovely property and facilities. Great communication from the proprietor. From the advert on Vrbo I thought the property was in Kelso. It is not. It is about 3 miles outside in a hamlet. So if you are expecting a pub / village store this is not for you. To get to anything you need to drive (have a designated driver). Plentiful supply of wood to keep warm. Good WiFi and interactive TV. Board games available. Good dining area! Do recommend, if quiet and remote is for you.

This is a lovely property a few miles from Kelso. The rooms are spacious, as are the bathrooms and parking for 2 cars is a bonus and the additional fridge in the walk in cupboard was great. We were 3 couples and there was plenty of space to sit and chat, eat at the dining table and the 3 bedrooms were ideal. There were a few little niggles like some of the light bulbs needing replaced and a light not working - we had to bring 2 lamps down from the bedrooms as the dining room light was broken which wasn't ideal. Also, we agree with a previous reviewer that the sofa is really uncomfortable to such an extent that we moved the dining room chairs into the living room, again not ideal for relaxing in the evening. All in all a great property just needing a few wee tweaks to the upkeep and replacing some missing items, like a grill pan in the kitchen.

The pictures don’t do it justice!

This property is even better than it looks! First of all, after we got lost…Nikki came to our rescue and personally led us to the property. The welcome basket had all the essentials: wine, chocolate, shortbread and even tickets to visit Floors castle (a must do) The house is beautifully decorated and well appointed with everything you need for a stay. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable with high quality linens. Skylights provide great light all day. Even though the house is a few miles from Kelso, it is easy to get into town for dining and it is well located for exploring the Borders area. I really hated leaving this lovely place.

Excellent accommodation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Nicola’s beautiful property. It was comfortable and immaculately clean. Loved the wood burning stove in the living room. Communication with Nicola was excellent and we hope to return.
