The Shepherd's Hut at Northcombe Farm

The Shepherd's Hut at Northcombe Farm is a beautifully appointed traditional shepherd's hut which the owners have lovingly built and furnished on their Devonshire farm. The hut provides the perfect glamping experience with the lake and countryside on your doorstep, but with all the modern conveniences of a walk in shower, central heating and kitchenette.

There is ample parking for two cars next to the shepherd's hut and guests will enjoy the seating area in front of the hut with views out across the green fields. The fact that it is sheltered under the barn roof means that even in wet weather, guests can enjoy a warm cup of tea or glass of wine outside and taking in the fresh air.

The hut is accessed up some small steps and the open plan living inside is well-designed with the bed area to the left and the kitchenette and dining bar to the right. The bathroom is at the end of the hut with its walk in shower and flushing WC.

Guests are able to fish in the lake and can also enjoy equestrian activities on the farm (please contact us for details). Further afield, guests can enjoy the famous Dartmoor National Park - ideal for hiking and cycling fans.

Beautiful shepherds hut. Well designed, very clean and comfortable. Everything you need for a relaxing stay. Second visit, will be back again for sure. A shelf in the shower cubicle would be handy to put shower gel etc.

This was my second stay here its a fabulous place.

The hosts are friendly and helpful, the accommodation is as per the listing and the surroundings are lovely. I had my dog with me - there are some fabulous walks from the door and close by and this time we went to Northcott Mouth beach (about 40 mins away) for some sea, sand, rockpools and the coastal path...beautiful. I highly recommend a stay here.

The place was immaculate when we arrived there was a place to set up and work at my laptop, the wifi worked well, the bed was comfortable, and the facilities within the hut met all my needs. The hut being under the cover of the open sided barn made for a lovely extra bit of dry space so it was easy to sort the dog out after a rainy walk before letting her inside, and as the weather was mild but rainy I was able to sit out and enjoy a cuppa without getting wet. There is a lovely walk directly from the hut and plenty of others in and around the area. I plan to book this fantastic shepherds hut again next time I'm working in the area.

An absolute gem!

A wonderfully well-equipped and presented hut – a bonus that we were allowed to bring our dogs, too! Fitted out to a high standard, this compact and unique accommodation has the benefit of under cover location, with exterior seating/dining areas making it ideal for the English weather. Perfectly placed for visiting our friends in Virginstow, you'll be seeing us again!

Perfect quiet getaway

Wonderful location, cosy, well appointed accommodation. Enjoyed the house martens (not the band!), bats and horses. Central location within easy striking distance of most major attractions. The private outside seating area was perfect for winding down after a full day&#39s adventuring No sign of any farm cats :(

A beautifully peaceful getaway

This was definitely the best booking we have ever made on booking.com! The location isn’t far from Bude for a beach day, and small towns around to get supply’s. The hosts were lovely and friendly, with beautiful dogs!! Walks around the farm were stunning and very peaceful. We stayed two nights which was absolutely perfect for a peaceful getaway. the shepherds hut was unbelievably comfortable and cosy, even in this roasting summer it was nice and cool in the evenings. facilities were all we needed. -
