In a unique location in the heart of the Green Heart, on the outskirts of Alphen aan den Rijn, with a view of the beautiful Vrouwgeestmolen windmill and the stunning polder, a luxurious, charming, and rustic vacation home was built in 2020, designed to accommodate 4 to 5 people. The listed price is based on a maximum of 4 to 5 guests.

Nature, tranquility, and plenty of recreational opportunities—that’s what you’ll find during your vacation in this beautiful vacation home next to the Vrouwgeestmolen.

Children are, of course, also very welcome! There’s plenty of space to play outdoors. And there’s plenty to do in the area! Such as a day trip to the Avifauna bird park and playground, the Archeon theme park, and various other playgrounds and swimming pools nearby.

You’ll be staying with Hans and Sarah. Hans is a volunteer miller.
He’d love to welcome you!

Of course, you can tour the mill upon request. The miller will be happy to give you a tour and tell you about the mill’s function and history.

This is our second vacation rental on the property next to the Vrouwgeestmolen. We’ve been renting out the Windmill Cottage since 2015.

Hans' property was the perfect hub for our family of 4 while we were in the Netherlands. It had all of the amenities that we needed and we loved the area! Hans was an excellent host. He was kind, friendly, and informative. If we ever come back, this is where we would stay again!

My wife and I had a great experience staying at a renovated hay barn. The views were amazing. Was great to wake up to farm animals, birds, etc. every morning. Han’s, who lives in a functional windmill on the property, was a great host. He even gave us a tour of the windmill! Loved that he had bikes to rent which we really enjoyed. All in all, it was a great experience in a great country.

Fabulous stay on the polder

We stayed in the Haystack house which was compact and wonderful for our family. We enjoyed the countryside setting with chickens, fresh eggs, a tour of the windmill on the property, and the boats sailing on the Rhine outside our place. The owner was very friendly and helpful. I recommend this place as a wonderful Dutch experience.

Quit homestead and beautiful views.

We felt we we trying in the country far from the cities with beautiful sun set. How ever we not far from city centers and a lot of stuff was easy to reach by bikes.

A lovely, cosy cottage in beautiful surroundings

We had a really relaxing time here. The cottage is small but that suited us, and the view across the fields filled with all kind of wildlife was superb (not forgetting the chickens next to us and the three walking ducks!). And the huge windmill next to the canal is something to behold. Hans, the host, was really welcoming and helpful and if you want to lean more about the windmill then Google 'Vrouwgeest windmill' and learn how it has been in his family since 1797. The cottage we stayed in was built by Hans from a Dutch hay storage building with a roof that would have been raised and lowered (thus the poles and the pulleys). And as for Holland – glorious. The Dutch are so friendly and speak better English than many Brits I know, and Gouda and the cheese experience is recommended. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and really didn’t want to leave. Thank you Hans..

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in der Unterkunft an der Mühle und können sie uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen!Hans ist ein außergewöhnlich herzlicher und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber. Er hat uns sogar Mietfahrräder organisiert, sodass wir die Umgebung ganz entspannt erkunden konnten.Das Häuschen war sehr sauber, liebevoll eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Die frischen Blumen auf dem Tisch haben uns direkt willkommen fühlen lassen. :)Für unsere Kinder war der Aufenthalt ein Traum: Sie durften den Garten mit Trampolin nutzen und die Schafe füttern. Wir wurden außerdem mit frischem Gemüse und Trauben aus dem Garten der Gastgeber verwöhnt. Ein besonderes Highlight war die persönliche Führung durch die Mühle am Ende unseres Aufenthalts.Die Lage direkt am Kanal, umgeben von Feldern und Tieren, ist wunderschön. Mit dem Fahrrad erreicht man bequem den Supermarkt und die Innenstadt. Alphen ist ein hübscher Ort und eignet sich zudem perfekt als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge nach Amsterdam, Gouda, Rotterdam, Den Haag oder an die Nordsee.Vielen Dank an Hans und seine Frau für die herzliche Gastfreundschaft – wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Ein wunderschöner Ferienort zum geniessen und erholen. Naturnah und dennoch zentral gelegen für verschiedene Tagesausflüge. Das Hoiberghuis ist top - alles da, was es braucht und es ist sehr liebevoll ausgestattet und sehr gepflegt. Die Vermieter Hans und Vonne sind sehr zuvorkommend und man fühlt sich "einfach Zuhause". Wir können das Hoiberghuis nur weiterempfehlen und werden sicher wiederkommen.

Erholsame Zeit in perfekter Lage

Von der Buchung, über Check-in, Sauberkeit und Lage des Objekts - alles bestens. Wir haben eine wundervolle Woche dort verbringen können. Mit dem Fahrrad nach Leiden oder Lisse, mit dem Auto innerhalb von 30 - 45 min in Gouda, Den Haag, Delft oder ans Wasser- die Lage war perfekt und idyllisch. Empfehlenswert!

Echt geweldig

Een heerlijk verblijf op een unieke plek met een zeer aardige en betrokken gastheer Hans. Leuke dieren zoals kippen, loopeenden en schapen. Prachtig uitzicht op de polder en een prachtige molen. Wunderbarer Urlaub

Es war ein sehr erholsamer Urlaub. Das Ferienhaus liegt sehr idyllisch abseits der Stadt. Die Mühle ist wunderschön und der morgendliche Ausblick auf die Felder einfach toll. Wir wurden morgens von Hühnern begrüßt und von einem Hund besucht. Unser Gastgeber Hans war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir werden wiederkommen.

Haystack Haus

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Urlaub im Haystack Haus. Bei schönem Wetter konnten wir morgens und Abends die Terasse nutzen und die Polderlandschaft beobachten. Das Haystack Haus hat im oberen Schlafzimmer eine Klimaanlage. Die Treppe zum Schlafzimmer ist sehr steil. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.
