Een bijzonder mooi huis qua archtectuur en ligging.Fantastisch vrij gelegen met een geweldig uitzicht.Alle voorzieningen, zowel binnen als buiten, zijn van een hoog niveau. Van slaapkamers tot keuken, maar ook de diverse terassen en het grote zwembad.We hebben hier een heerlijke week gehad.

An excellent place to unwind and relax, immersed in nature in a spectacular property with a fantastic backdrop. And big thanks to Viveca & Hans for accommodating our delayed arrival - and to Andreas for maintaining the pool. We had a fantastic stay.

Ruhiger Rückzugsort am Fuß der Sierra de Gredos

Ein sehr schönes, großzügiges modernes Haus mit einem herrlichen Garten und weitem Blick in die wunderbare grüne Landschaft. Die überdachte Terrasse und ein oft wehender angenehm kühler Wind von den Bergen sowie die Abkühlung nachts machen den Aufenthalt auch bei höheren Temperaturen sehr erholsam. Dazu ein herrlicher Pool.Vom Haus aus haben wir abwechslungsreiche Wanderungen in die nahen Berge und die unvergleichliche Natur mit blühenden Edelkastanien, unterschiedlichen Ginstern und vielfältigen anderen blühenden Pflanzen unternommen.Eine Woche der wirklichen Erholung. Auch für abwechslungsreiche Lektüre ist durch die vorhandene Bibliothek gesorgt.Die Organisation und Betreuung durch die sehr freundlichen Eigentümer war perfekt. Eine wunderbare grüne Oase in der mitunter kargen Extremadura!

A stunning house!

We’ve been twice now and can’t wait to visit again. The view alone is worth it but the house is stunning and the mountains with rivers to swim in are as beautiful as anything in Spain. Hans and Viveca are adorable hosts and you can really tell how much love they have put into building this house. It’s a very very special place.

Idyllic rural getaway

Fabulous home, brilliant modern architecture and lovely gardens. Really enjoyed the peaceful location with the sound of distant goat bells, beautiful scenery, stunning views across the valley and back up to the mountains and excellent facilities including essential swimming pool.

Een topper!

Na een vermoeiende trip kwamen we aan. Onmiddellijk happy door de mooie vieuw, het prachtige huis en het zeer fijn onthaal door Hans, de eigenaar. We hadden voordien al een heel fijne, vlotte communicatie met zijn partner Viveca. We hebben ontzettend genoten tijdens onze week. Leuke uitstappen, mooie natuurgebieden, kids potje pingpong, dan weer eens hangen bij het fantastische zwembad met een boek en glaasje wijn erbij. De laatste avond kwam Hans nog even afscheid nemen wat zeer aangenaam was. Wij kunnen alleen maar zeggen ga er heen, ervaar en geniet! Een topper!!

Harmonie totale avec la nature

Des vacances de rêve dans votre magnifique maison de Villanueva de la Vera… Tous les commentaires laissés précédemment sont justes et décrivent la magie de la maison et du lieu. Des ballades au cœur de la montagne, des baignades dans les piscines naturelles… tout était parfait ! Viveca et Hans sont très accueillants et attentionnés, c’est très agréable. C’était aussi pour nous l’occasion de vivre dans une maison autonome dotée de panneaux solaires : une magnifique expérience en harmonie avec la nature. Magnificent house on the southern slopes of the Sierra de Gredos

Our expectations of the house were quite high when we arrived because of the promising photos on the VRBO site. Moreover, we are lovers of Spain and Extremadura in particular. So it was with confidence that we traveled to Vilanueva de la Vera. However, it was even better than we expected. After a slightly challenging drive along a dirt road (of about 13 minutes) we arrived at the stunning modernist one-story villa en were cordially welcomed by the host. He showed us around en informed us of the ins and outs of staying in a mansion powered by sunlight and completely surrounded by nature. The house is tastefully furnished, spacious and very comfortable without tending towards blunt luxury. The way we like it. The bedrooms and bathrooms are simply convenient with good beds and ample room. Eveything is in great working order except for the gas stove which proved to be a little reluctant in lighting it. The kitchen is great, by the way, well equipped. Being an amateur cook, I spent quite some time in it en enjoyed every minute. Then, there's the garden en the swimming pool (a very friendly local gentleman, Andres, comes to clean it every other day). Only superlatives suffice. Surrounded by Mediterranean and subtropical vegetation, spending time with your family by the pool is more than enjoyable. We are naturalists and had the pleasure of observing a Spanish imperial eagle soaring above the house. The location of the house, surrounded by woodland is magnificent.

A wonderful property in a stunning setting.

We had a brilliant time. The house is located in a magnificent mountain setting and we were able to enjoy the view from the veranda and swimming pool. We enjoyed visiting the local villages, which have great character - if we could drag ourselves away from the house and pool that is. Viveca and Hans were always contactable if we needed anything. A great experience and we would love to stay again.

La casa es tal y como aparece en las fotos, es maravillosa y totalmente equipada, hasta con despensa para cocinar. Aislada en plena naturaleza, hemos disfrutado mucho las noches de estrellas, se ven de lujo y qué decir de su fantástica chimenea. La llegada tiene un camino un poco peor pero merece la pena cuando llegas. Silencio, tranquilidad en un espacio idílico. Parece que estuvieras en una película. Hemos disfrutado muchísimo. La recomiendo totalmente.

Heerlijk verblijf!

Wij verbleven twee weken in dit geweldige huis. Deze villa heeft écht alles wat je op de foto's ziet en nog meer: een absurd groot terras dat steeds in de schaduw ligt, een droomuitzicht aan alle kanten van de woning, en een prachtig verfrissend zwembad omgeven door steeneiken en steeds goed onderhouden. De aanloop naar en communicatie tijdens onze reis verliep steeds hartelijk en vlekkeloos. Als je houdt van privacy en rust in een wondermooi stuk Spanje is dit echt wel the place to be. Heerlijk om elke ochtend naar Villanueva te rijden om verse producten, om vervolgens nog een koffietje te drinken op één van de gezellige terrasjes. Dan het zwembad in met de kids, boek lezen, wandelingetje maken, door de nabije bergbeekjes struinen, fietsen, lekker koken,... you name it. Ook voor uitstappen is deze streek ideaal. Je moet even rijden maar wij genoten van een dag Trujillo, Caceres, Placensia en een dag Béjar, Salamanca, Avila. Enfin, een aanrader!

Wonderful Summer week in May 2022

The design of this house is intriguing and beautiful, and this time of the year the gardens are in full bloom - just amazing. With warm weather we explored the footpath through the forest, that eventually turns into a track through the jungle and brings you in 20 minutes to a gorgeous spot in the Garganta where you can swim - it was our own private swimming pool amidst nature. Viveca has been kind and took care to make our stay great!

Un lujo

Es el “lugar”. Ese sitio donde por momentos piensas que la humanidad ha desaparecido. Un refugio para pensar, alejarte y, sobre todo, relajarte. La zona ofrece mucho, pero pensarás si merece la pena salir de allí. Gracias a Viveca y a Hanns por hacerme propietario de ese paraíso, aunque solo fuera por 3 días.

Absolutamente recomendable

Somos una familia con 2 niños de 11 y 13 años en marzo. Hemos disfrutado muchísimo de nuestra estancia. La casa es muy singular y acogedora, con una preciosa decoración y unas vistas excepcionales. Destaco también: la chimenea, la barbacoa y la parcela. El entorno es privilegiado donde se puede hacer senderismo, rutas guiadas a pie y a caballo, golf, visitar los pueblos con encanto de los alrededores, etc. Destaco la gastronomía con restaurantes que tienen platos muy creativos con productos de la zona. Cada vez que vamos, desconectamos y volvemos con las pilas cargadas. Como digo, muy recomendable

Bis auf das sehr gedämpfte Licht war es sehr schön. Leider war es eher dunkel mit diesen Lampen. Das arbeiten in der Küche und die Abendtoilette waren extrem ungewohnt. Hier würden moderne LED Lampen genau richtig zum Einsatz gelangen. Der Solarbetrieb müsste in der Beschreibung deutlich erwähnt werden.

Wir können uns in jeder Hinsicht allen anderen Bewertungen anschließen. Wer Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit in einer wunderschönen Landschaft mit allen Komfort sucht ist hier richtig. Das Haus wurde so perfekt in das Hanggrundstück integriert, dass im Hochsommer die überdachte Terrasse immer im Schatten liegt. Alles war perfekt organisiert von der Übergabe bis zur Abgabe durch die sehr freundliche Eigentümerin inkl. dem Luxus der Poolreinigung.

Comodidad, vistas inmejorables, silencio en medio de la naturaleza

La estancia ha sido inmejorable, es el perfecto sitio para desconectar en un paraje inmejorable, en una casa de ensueño. Hicimos uso de la piscina y es una maravilla poder bañarte mientras ves la sierra de Gredos. Todas las comodidades y en un ambiente sostenible. La verdad, un placer.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

We fell in love with the Sierra de Gredos soon after arriving in Spain, when we would come out on weekends to go hiking. The dramatic rocky mountain peaks covered with snow until the summer, set against the palm trees and orange trees and other lush subtropical vegetation further down, and then the endless view of the Extremadura plains. Such a sense of space and of freedom! As soon as we could we bought a plot of land here, at easy walking distance from one of the Garganta Minchones, one of the area's best mountain rivers, and built the house of my dreams here. We hope you will be able to enjoy it as much as we do.

この宿泊施設の特徴

We built the house on a spot that has 360º views, of the high mountain peaks on the north, the endless Extremadura plains on the south with the Sierra de Guadalupe and the Montes de Toledo on the horizon at 50 km. distance, and the sensual and lush hills of La Vera area all around. The architects, an American married to a Swedish woman who lived and worked in Madrid for some years, managed to preserve this sense of all-around views by putting in many large floor to ceiling windows that make the house almost transparent. The light is absolutely magical, different at all times of the day, and the place radiates an incredible sense of peace and calm. The covered terrace is our actual living space, as the climate allows for all-year-round outdoor life. What we enjoy most are the summer nights out under the amazing starry skies, and the beautiful rockpools in the Garganta Minchones, where bathing in the mineral water pools to the sound of the waterfalls feels like being in an open-air spa.
