A charming villa, set in the quiet hamlet of Piandera, in the beautiful Swiss countryside, north of Lago Lugano.

The one-bedroom villa sleeps 4 people and is ideal for a family or group of friends who want to relax in the mountains, and enjoy the great outdoors. The light-filled living area is stylishly furnished with a sofa and two contemporary armchairs. There is a wood-burning stove and a dining table for 4.

The separate kitchen, reached through an arch, is well-equipped with newly fitted units, an induction hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, toaster and a Tassimo coffee machine.

The private, stone terrace nestles into the hillside at the back of the villa. There is a second dining table and chairs, a large parasol and a BBQ for meals al fresco. On the lawn, at the front of the villa, guests can relax on 2 sun loungers.

Location
This lovely property is in the Val Colla, a region known for its stunning countryside, with chestnut woods and streams running down the hillsides. It offers picturesque hiking routes and challenging mountain biking tracks, from spring through to late autumn. The neighbouring region of Capriasca is home to the Via dei Sapori, a tour of local food producers which can be done on foot or by bike and which opens up the area’s gastronomic treasures.

The villa is just 30 minutes from the city of Lugano. Here there is much to see, including MASI, The Museum of Art of Italian Switzerland, which hosts regular contemporary art exhibitions. There are many delicious restaurants and cafés where you can enjoy the best of Italian and Swiss cuisines.

For families with younger children, the Parco Giochi Cugnolo (5 minute drive) is a fun way to while away an afternoon. This children’s playground, in beautiful countryside, is full of activities and games. For more family fun there is the swimming pool complex at Capriasca (20 minute drive). Here you will find smaller pools for younger children and an Olympic-sized pool, plus volleyball and table tennis for the rest of the family.

The closest international airports are in Italy - Milan Malpensa 1 hour 25 minutes by car, or Milan Linate, a 1 hour and 40-minute journey.
