Villa Piovene Porto Godi welcomes us on the hill of Lonedo di Lugo in Vicenza. This 16th-century Venetian villa was added in 1996, along with the other Palladian villas of the Veneto region, to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Behind it lie the Vicenza mountains, which are ideal for hiking, biking, motorcycling, or driving. But the location is also strategic as a starting point for quickly reaching the region’s major and minor cities, mountains, sea, and lakes.
The apartment has been recently renovated and combines all modern comforts with the historic charm of Palladian villas.
The apartment is accessed from the back of the villa via a small outdoor staircase. It features a modern kitchen-entryway with a dining area for four people. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for your stay. The modern bathroom features a shower, sink, and bidet.
The bedroom is furnished in a modern classic style with a comfortable double bed, nightstands, and a three-door wardrobe. The jewel of the apartment is the villa’s spacious old service kitchen with its imposing fireplace. Today, this room serves as the apartment’s living room and provides direct access to one of the porticoes of the barchesse with its Doric columns. Here you can enjoy an aperitif after your excursions and admire the wonderful view of the villa’s garden with its statues, the staircase, and the sumptuous wrought-iron gate. You can also enjoy a glass of Prosecco from the Villa Piovene winery at the back of the villa, overlooking the beautiful “prete” vineyard, which was once used to produce “vino santo” for Masses in the villa’s small chapel.
