Hatherleigh is a great central position for the coast-to-coast long distance track, which includes the well-known Tarka Trail, and is located in the Torridge Valley, approximately seven miles from the boundary of the Dartmoor National Park. The town itself has an interesting assortment of eateries, country inns, and craft shops. Okehampton Castle, the lovely RHS Rosemoor Gardens in Torrington, and even the imposing surfing beaches in Bude are all accessible by car. Hatherleigh is ideally situated to visit this part of Devon due to its central location.
