Cozy Country Retreat, Perfect for everyone, including our Canine Friends!
Unwind in the Jacuzzi bath and while away the hours in a private, warm, authentic country cottage.
Recently refurbished throughout but it's authenticity has been preserved, particularly the original stone and brick fireplaces and original stone walls preserved as much as possible.
2 Double bedrooms, includes 1 with ensuite. Also a quirky mezzanine, with a single sofa bed. Ideal for relaxing in a quiet sunlit room.
A second loft room is an ideal spot for the young ones, with a Harry Potter theme.
Ideal for kids but also an ideal meditation place with comfortable low lighting and tucked away in a private space.
All new kitchen appliances.
Beautiful views through the valley, no passing traffic, except an occasional ewe and lamb.
Also perfect for our canine friends as the cottage is far from passing traffic.
15 minutes drive from Letterkenny.

Fantastic cottage and location

Owl cottage was the highlight of our UK trip. Beautifully decorated , clean and welcoming this ancestral home of many generations wad updated to be modern and comfortable without loosing any of its original charmHighly recommend and hope to be able to return and enjoy many lovely days there

The Owl Cottage was just as magical and cozy as listed in VRBO. Communication with Anne was great. I would highly recommend it to my friends and family.

Anniversary getaway

Property was superb was very cold outside and the cottage was lovely and warm and the jacuzzi was a bonus cant praise the owners enough gave us a call mid week to make sure all was good.

Even nicer than you think

Really wish we could have spent more time there. The location, the views, the sheep in the front yard :-) We would happily take the whole family there next time, plenty of sleeping space and two full baths.

Beautiful as a fairytale

We were very well looked after, the landlords are very helpful and friendly. The facilities are good, we had nothing to complain about. The location is ideal for exploring the wonderful surroundings. We can only highly recommend this accommodation.

Owl Cottage

This was the most amazing place I've ever stayed. Clean and cozy and full of history. Surrounded by farms with sheep, cows and a stellar view. Nice warm beds and all the amenities you need, even a jacuzzi tub! 10/10 would recommend!

A bit of paradise in Ireland

Loved this cottage with history. We stayed in Rodden (not Owl) cottage, on the same property, and it was delightful. Lots of stone and heavy timbers, beautiful updating recently. A storm had knocked out water to Owl, so our host offered us Rodden, very accommodating. Only complaint was the fuel oil smell in the downstairs bedroom.

A peaceful place

Bon accueil de la propriétaire. Maison chaleureuse et bien décorée esprit campagne avec une belle vue sur les collines environnantes et un champ de moutons à côté. Exactement ce que l’on attendait. Endroit très calme et reposant. La maison est très bien équipée avec une suite parentale et une 2ème salle de bain avec jacuzzi. Était encore mieux que ce qu’on pouvait imaginer par les photos. Très bon séjour, je recommande.

The cottage is situated on a family run sheep farm, nestled in the hills near Glenveagh National Park and a 10 to 15 minute drive yo Letterkenny Town. Close yo Glenveagh National Park, Errigal and Muckish mountains.
Steeped in history, this cottage was restored in 2004 by its current owners and has been in the family for 5 generations.
The cottage was owned by an elderly lady and her daughter in the famine days and to this day, her fireplace and gable wall has been lovingly maintained in her memory..and forms a beautiful part of the main bedroom.
Oil heating is the dominant heat source and the owners recently added a wood pellet stove to the unique fireplace in the living room, bringing a beautiful relaxing feature to the home.
The mezzanine has a sofa bed suitable for 1 person and the loft has a single bed in the kids area which also has toys and books, an ideal retreat for children and teenagers.

This property ticks all the boxes for all ages, safe, off road, very comfortable and beautiful countryside views, while being a short drive to the local town.
The owners appreciate every guest and do everything possible to make sure that their stay is perfect.
So cone along and experience this cottage, there arent many places as authentic as this cottage, you will not be disappointed.
