An ideal place to base yourselves, whether you're seeking to relax in peaceful and beautiful surroundings or desire a fun-packed activity holiday. This could include exploring the vast and varied wild beauty of North West Sutherland's landscape whatever the weather. Hill walking, sea and fresh water fishing, golf, ornithology, photography,painting,sailing, stalking, climbing or just lazing on secluded white sandy beaches.
Return to the warmth of this cosy cottage with every amenity.
Bedroom 1 with king size bed.
Bedroom 2 single bed.
Bedroom 3 single bed.
Two luxury shower rooms
Lounge/diner with sofa and armchairs. Open fire (one basket of wood supplied). Television with freeview channels and DVD player. WiFi.
Fully equipped kitchen with range cooker, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine.
Linen and towels are provided and changed weekly.
The cottage is situated in an enclosed grassed garden with off road parking and is safe for children.
We accept up to two dogs at Kyleview cottage @ £30.00 per dog.

The cottage was excellent. Spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable furnishings with a very nice kitchen to work in.We are regular visitors to the area and the cottage was perfect for our ‘timeout’ week away.

A week at Kyleview

The property was in the most beautiful location, it was immaculate throughout and perfect for our weeks day. The beds were extremely comfortable and it was lovely waking up looking at the beautiful view. Checking was simple and straightforward and I would certainly stay there again.

Convenient location with incredible views.

We enjoyed our stay here. The property was clean and well equipped. The property manager replied quickly to questions. It was in a quiet location with a short drive into town. The view was spectacular. We would definitely stay here again.

Pure nature

Beautiful accomodation with fantastic scenery and stunning views. Everything in the house was fine. We had a very good week in this cottage.To reach the house and to explore the area you need a vehicle.

Kyleview cottage

Comfortable cottage with fabulous views over the Kyle of Durness. Ideal for a quiet, relaxed, scenic stay.Important to note that, contrary to the listing, the location is 2 miles south of Durness itself.

Kyleview cottage

The cottage is situated next to a working farm with an odd friendly sheep venturing into the garden, she was very welcome.The cottage itself was lovely with all the facilities you would need. The view from the sitting room was across the Kyle of Durness, a favourite area for both of us. Locally there is lots available from the craft village at Balnakiel, Cocoa Mountain is a must visit for chocoholics. Loads of coastal walks are easily accessable with plenty of scenic views and wildlife.Fly fishing is also available on the limestone lochs which can be booked online through Durness and KLB Angling Club.

Lovely property with fabulous views. Very clean and everything we needed. The area is stunning. Suggestions - some milk in fridge on arrivalSurprised at Checking in 5pm and out 9am after paying so much money for our stay. Are they still on covid time?

Beautiful location with stunning views

We really enjoyed our stay at Kyleview Cottage in Durness. The setting is absolutely beautiful, with incredible views over the Kyle and a peaceful, remote atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind. The cottage was comfortable and had what we needed for a short break. Fantastic lovely cosy cottage

Had such a fantastic stay at the cottage, it has everything you could need and easy access to local beaches, Smoo Caves etc. the view was amazing and lots of sheep hanging around outside. The beds were amazing, so comfy and bathrooms and showers so luxurious. Communication from Lin was great. Loved it!

Wonderful cottage and ever-changing outlook!

All had a great time, but sadly could not get the fire to work without setting off the smoke alarms! The thermostat failed but this was attended to very rapidly indeed - this was most appreciated - a terrific host and support service.

Perfect little cottage in a great location

Just right for our short family holiday - very well presented, cosy but with plenty of space. Great to have single bedrooms for the kids and two bathrooms. Lovely and warm inside. Amazing views and great location for exploring the area.

Highly recommended

A cosy, comfortable cottage with stunning views in all directions. The scenery almost seems to change every time you look out of the window, because it looks different depending on the tides and weather conditions. We had mixed weather over the course of the week - a couple of days were complete washouts and a couple were gloriously warm and sunny. The only thing I would say is that you might be a bit stuck if you had a week that was wall-to-wall rain, because almost all the things to do are outdoors, but if you get completely stuck I gather there's a nice museum in Bettyhill, about an hour's drive away.

Take time on the NC500 and stop and stay in one of the most beautiful places in the UK

The cottage was perfect. We rented the big house a couple of years ago - a magnificent experience. I have stayed at the old Cape Wrath Hotel and Mr. Watson and team did a great job. The new house is on another level. My recommendation to all visitors to Scotland - enjoy the route maps - but take time out to stay in a local community for a week or so and get engaged. Stay at a place like this - the cottage has everything and the local area is unique. Pictish archeology, the best geology in the world (perhaps), walks and mountains, fishing, etc. we will be back! Many thanks!

David and Gillie have been coming up to Durness for over 44 years each summer so know the area well. David's grandfather came up to Durness at the turn of the century to break in the ground for sheep farming. David runs a sheep farm at Rhigolter. He has been working in the south of England in the NHS as a Hand Surgeon. Our children and now grandchildren love coming up to Durness for holidays.
