A splendid old town house with 225 square meters of built are and 100 square meters of fantastic garden with a private swimming pool and porch. Beautiful house 5 kms away from the beach.

The house has been completely refurbished mixing the XVIII century antique house with XXI century avant-garde architecture. Fantastic location in the centre of the medieval town of Pals (Girona).

The house has a very nice living room with a fire place. The place is decorated with a mixture of Antique and contemporary furnishings to offer all the commodities. The house is equipped with a WIFI connection.

Free parking on premises for 2 vehicles.

SURROUNDING AREA: 'Can Caranta' is situated on the Medieval town of Pals. All around the town centre you can see splendid Gothic buildings, like the present-day museum of submarine archaeology Ca La Pruna, a fortified mansion from the 15th-16th century. It also holds a permanent exhibition of wines and cavas of Catalonia, a room offering temporary exhibitions of painters and sculptors.


In the town of Figueres (at 40Km) you will find Salvador’s Dali Museum. At 10 Km is La Bisbal d'Empordà famous for its ceramics. Close by are the Roman ruins at Ullestret, and many other historic medieval villages. Girona - capital of the province, with its Roman and Arabic history which can be seen in the old part of the city, also has a modern side, with great shopping, restaurants and night clubs (a 35 minutes drive).


ACTIVITIES / LEISURE: One of the most characteristic pictures of the coastline is the wide-open 3.5 kilometre long Pals beach with the Medes Islands in the background. Its special topography makes it the ideal spot to practice all types of water sports like windsurfing. Or if you prefer enjoying the surrounding secluded beaches of: Sa Riera, Sa Tuna, Aiguablava, Calella de Palafrugell or Llafranc (10minutes by car). Small sandy bays with rocky headlands, pine trees and clean water.


Only a few kilometres from Pals, in the town of L’Estartit, is the Medes Islands Marine Reserve, an archipelago formed by seven small islands that are admired the world over by people who practise underwater sports. A perfect place to practise: scuba diving, sea watching, snorkelling... and you don’t need to be an expert, because you will find professionals who will guide you and show you the most marvellous places in this privileged sea bed.

We had wonderful days in the holiday home. Everything was just right here. The cleanliness, the furnishings, and the location right next to the historic old town—which is simply beautiful—made us feel completely at home. Beautiful beaches can be reached in just 10 minutes. Just a few steps from the house, there are a bakery, a butcher’s shop, a fruit and vegetable store, as well as excellent and delicious restaurants. The house was great, stylish decor, good privacy, all bathrooms worked well, the kitchen is well enough equipped for a holiday. We enjoyed the garden too with plenty of furniture. The location is perfect, a great restaurant 50m away and a really friendly cafe with great coffee also just around the corner. Pals itself has a pretty medieval centre well worth a visit with many bars and restaurants to choose from. We spent a good out day in Girona, one at Sa Tuna (a beautiful upmarket cove on the coast) and another day at one of the best bird reserves we’ve ever visited- Aiguamolls d’Emporda - highly recommend the walk from Pere San Pescador.

Perfect holiday home for family

The house was clean, spacious and had lots of charm. Well appointed kitchen. A lovely garden area with good sized pool. Local shops with a bakers and butchers very close by. We had an excellent stay and were sad to leave! Highly recommend this property.

A great home base for the Costa del Sol

We spent 10m days at the property immediately before the start of the season. A charming country, historic village convenient to everything (including the beaches). As you see from the photos, the property is in keeping with the character of the village.We were well hosted and the managers and their staff were responsive and immediately available to solve any problems.All in al, we highly recommend the property for your stay.

M T & L half term hols

Property was as advertised. Due to flight times we arrived at 23:00 hrs, couldn’t access the property due to the PIN code for the gate being incorrect. Tried ringing the property contact number we had with no success. Contacted VRBO for help, sadly the only thing they could offer was to book us another appartment elsewhere ( this was at 1AM in the morning! Anyways after a bit of a palaver we managed to find an alternate way in ! Apart from this appartment was great, the medieval town was nice for wandering about in.

Wunderschönes Schmuckstück am Rande der Altstadt

Wir haben unseren Urlaub sehr genossen. Das Haus lässt keine Wünsche offen und man erreicht in sehr kurzen Wegen Bäcker, Metzger, Obst-und Gemüsehändler sowie eine hervorragende Gastronomie.

Belle maison, bien rénovée. Piscine vide à notre arrivée, bien sur on ne nous a pas prévenu avant. Compensation financière out de même obtenue. Une semaine a supporté les désagréments quotidiens des travaux dans la maison jumelle appartenant au même propriétaire: bruit et poussière en permanence.... Rapport qualité prix faible. Je ne recommande pas.

Can Catalina stay October 2019

Had a fantastic stay in Pals for our first family holiday. Love the property and the pool was great for our 6 month old son to play in. Pals is a beautiful place and as we had a car there are lots of places to visit within a 30min to 1 hour drive. Had only one issue with our stay. We found that the beds creaked a lot when sleeping if we moved or rolled about, which only was an issue as our son was sleeping in the cot in the same room. Apart from this a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend.

Prachtig huis in goede locatie

Zeer mooi huis. Volledig ingericht. Goede locatie met parkeer plaats. Jammer van kleine details zoals te weinig handdoeken of geen basis kruiden. Maar ja als je het weet ben je voorbereid. Leuk om zo naar de winkels en restaurants te lopen. Koop bij de bakker tegen over de madeleines. Ze zijn heerlijk.

Lovely home; perfect location!

We thoroughly enjoyed 5 nights in this exceptional property! Three couples each had their own large bedroom and bathroom with lots of community space. We loved cooking together in the kitchen and eating outdoors or in. Well maintained and convenient to all of the Costa Brava. Pals itself is a beautiful town with all conveniences nearby.

What a beautiful house! Spspacious, luxurious, exquisitely renovated.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was so spacious that even with six couples and a child there was no crowding! Beautiful pool, fine quality renovation. And Pals was delightful.

We had a lovely holiday in Pals, the house Can Caranta was super with everything we needed. The best thing though, was the location with local shops on the doorstep and great restaurants and cafes within walking distance. The old town is charming and there are many interesting places to visit within a short drive. Most enjoyable.

Espectacular... volveremos!!

Hacía tiempo que no disfrutábamos de una casa como la de Can Caranta. Las habitaciones espaciosas, con su vestidor y su baño, la cocina impresionante, el salón super confortable que da al jardín, una maravilla. Es perfecto para disfrutar del pueblo de Pals, porque estás en pleno centro con todas las tiendas a mano, restaurantes... y al mismo tiempo llegas a la casa y respiras una paz... Tiene una piscina monísima! La verdad es que nos la encontramos muy limpla y la atención que tuvieron con nosotros tanto Enric como Rosa Mª en todo momento también es digno de mención. ¡No dudéis en visitarla!

Summer holidays with friends

Maison tres fonctionnelle, chaleureuse et agreable idealement située dans le ravissant village de Pals. 1h de Barcelone, 30 mn de Girone et 15 mn de la magnifique plage de Callela de Palafrugell. Nombreux golfs aux alentours. Nous recommandons vivement cette maison. Suggestions : un parasol pour la terrasse et la clim dans toute la maison (actuellement uniquement dans une chambre) Merci a Enric pour sa disponibilité et sa gentillesse et Maria pour ses conseils.

The perfect place

Can Caranta is a marvelous place to live, pretty comfortable, perfect decoration, very close from everywhere and so nice. The beaches around are very beautiful and if you go like us with our children, they will enjoy so much in the swimming pool and feel secure as if they where at home. We recommend it for sure!

Fin de semana inolvidable!!!!

Alquilamos la casa para pasar el fin de semana. Tres parejas y un bebé. La casa es preciosa, está muy bien decorada. Es muy cómoda ya que tiene tres habitaciones dobles con baño en cada una de ellas. También nos proporcionaron una cuna que solicitamos en el momento de la reserva. La cocina y el comedor están muy bien equipados, no falta detalle. Estuvimos en enero y pudimos disfrutar de la chimenea. La casa además dispone de un sistema de calefacción de suelo radiante muy confortable. La casa se encuentra en una ubicación ideal, en un pueblo tranquilo como Pals, cerca de la playa (5km) y rodeada de preciosos parajes rurales para visitar. A 15 min se encuentra la ciudad de Palafrugell donde hay un fantástico mercado de pescado, carne y verdura. La propiedad Enric y María Rosa son muy amables y muy atentos. Volveremos en verano para poder disfrutar de la piscina ;)
