Le Noyer is located within the 50 acre private park of the 12th century, Knights Templar - Manoir Bourgale.

Conveniently situated within walking distance of Villefranche du Périgord, with its ancient covered market - shops, boulangeries, café and restaurants.

A beautifully converted stone barn - Le Noyer provides space to relax and recharge.
A large open kitchen, dining area and lounge provides a great family space for your holiday memories. A double bedroom with twin aspects, gives views of the historic manor and meadows and has an en-suite bathroom; toilet, washbasin and shower. The second bedroom, with twin beds has views across gardens and open meadows. It also benefits from an en-suite bathroom; toilet, washbasin and bath - with overhead shower.

Surrounded by private gardens, there are two terraces, shaded eating and barbecue area, a walnut grove, with a hammock, meadows and woods.

Discover the history of this manor, it’s intrigues and mysterious carvings, it’s beautiful gardens and large pool. Benefit from free access to our vegetable garden and seasonally available fruit, salad and vegetables. Feed and make friends with out chickens, ducks and geese. Enjoy the calm of the meadows, the beauty of the woods and wildlife. A truly special environment.

Le Noyer is an ideal location to explore the thousands of attractions and activities the Dordogne and Vézère valleys offer. A lovely welcome to the house by David. A great host who gave us a huge amount of helpful information. The house is in a beautiful quiet setting with great views. The pool is lovely and a good size. The property has everything you need and there are local shops to stock up on items. It was very clean throughout.

A delightful stay for our family of four. David (host) provided a super warm welcome and was was on hand when ever needed to provide advice and local travel tips. We enjoyed kayaking on and wild swimming in the Dordogne River and tributories... the water was crystal clear and warm (unlike any river in England!). So many lovely places to explore from a relaxing base with large pool, generous living accommodation and beautiful grounds.We would highly recommend.

No aircon no fan 42degree heat,we went to local shop bought a fan,pool was lovely,it was not a bad place it was the way it was advertised,with the 50acres of land ,the picture of ppl kiakin next the the massive old build ,and the way we read it ,we asummed we would turn up with that building in amonst 50 acres of land and kiakin there aswell.The river and building was 26 minutes away.it was the only holiday we have had ,where we were counting the days away to get home, Sorry it just was not for us ,host was very imformative great personality ,Again maybe it was we had read the advertisment,

Dear Stephen, I was saddened by your review, a contrast to lovely comments in our guest book and made in person. If understood, you now have two issues: It was hot & kayaking was not possible from your garden: Your visit was in the summer months, traditionally a hot period. You also experienced the worst heatwave recorded in Europe. When welcomed, I explained the house will stay cool if you followed the instructions provided. Indeed the next guests to arrive, remarked how cool the house was. Experience with fans shows people tend to leave windows open, flooding the house with warm air. Fans do not cool the house and are also inefficient for the energy they consume. We work hard to make your stay comfortable- but with minimal impact on the environment. The Vezere & Dordogne rivers do not run through, & kayaking is not possible- from the garden. Pictures, an extensive written description & maps are on Vrbo. A myriad of other information is also at your finger tips. Our advertising states the benefits of our central Dordogne location and that 100's of attractions, including kayaking, are within approximately 20-30 minutes easy drive. You expressed that you would not be moving far from the pool all week-that was your chosen holiday. We thank you for kind words about the pool. For many who return year after year, this is a special place & region- evidently, as you now say, it simply wasn't for you.

Wonderful escape in idyllic setting

We've just returned from a lovely stay at Bourgale. The property is in an idyllic setting with lovely views, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You can walk to the local village which has all the essentials along with cafes and restaurants. David and Katie were wonderful hosts and recommended some great days out (we had our 6 year old in tow). We did some canoeing, cycling, visited Castelnaud Castle and Marquessac gardens and did some tree walking so there's plenty to do within reasonable distance. Overall a lovely break

Peace and tranquility in wonderful France

The grounds of the (in part) 13th century manor house extend over many acres providing visitors with a variety of environments to relax in. Sunbeds by the pool, deckchairs in the garden, outside dining tables or shaded relaxed seating. - Just take your pick. Good weather will allow you to make use of the gas BBQ as you prepare food bought in one of the many markets held in the beautiful local towns and villages. Of course there's no end of good restaurants to choose from in the region of you don't fancy doing your own catering. So laze around, explore or swim and canoe in the rivers. You can't go wrong. Thoroughly recommend.

Magnificent and Relaxing Stay in Perigord

David and Kate host a beautiful manor that has everything you need for a relaxing French getaway. The guest home was cozy, clean, with all of the essentials. We won’t forget playing catch with their dog Danny while walking the property, lounging out in the backyard during those beautiful South of France afternoons, or enjoying the wood-burning fireplace during the cool fall nights. Our hosts were always available for questions or concerns, but gave us enough space to enjoy our privacy. They provided us with endless recommendations for fine dining, activities and sites to see in the area. All of their recommendations that we were able to see instantly became highlights of our trip. Overall, do not hesitate to make this your next vacation spot. We plan to return as soon as possible.

Beautiful Place

The place is as beautiful as you can see on the fotos. It is a perfect starting point ig you would like to explore the Perigord noir and beyond. David and Kate are really warm and helpful hosts. We and our kids had a great time there. We just have to come back to discover the plenty of things to see and do there.

Pretty Bourgale

Very comfortable cottage for our grown up family of 4. Bedrooms spacious and very cool in the heat. Surrounding gardens just beautiful - we loved the table under the tree and my husband made the hammock his own. Beautiful pool which the kids loved. Waking distance to nearest village which has a great restaurant, boulangerie and two handy supermarkets. Favourite village by far though Monpazier which was a 20 minute drive. Thanks for having us.

Traumhafte Lage

Bourgale liegt in einem herrlichen grünen Tal und wenn man einmal da ist, will man am liebsten nie wieder abfahren, so friedlich und ruhig ist es dort. Perfekt zum Entspannen, Lesen, im Pool baden oder mit den Kindern auf Entdeckungstour gehen. Gleichzeitig ein toller Ausgangsort für die Besichtigung zahlreicher Burgen, Höhlen und Landschaftsparks in der Dordogne. Und dazu gibt es die tollsten Vermieter überhaupt. Super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben sogar eine kleine Erstausstattung für den Kühlschrank bekommen und jede Menge gute Ausflugstipps über Instagram. Vielen Dank für ein schöne Zeit :-)

Charme calme dans parc verdoyant.

Magnifiques endroit. Nous avons trouvé la maison dans un état de propreté irréprochable, rarement rencontré dans une maison de location et nous y avons reçu un excellent accueil. Une délicate attention de la part de la propriétaire nous y attendait. Grâce à sa localisation, proche de beaucoup d'endroits à visiter, nous avons bien profité de la région. Je recommande chaleureusement cette maison.

Très bon séjour!

Nous avons beaucoup aimé notre séjour dans cette maison très comfortable et bien équipée. La maison se trouve sur un magnifique domaine avec une grande piscine. Wonderful relaxing time, with amazing helpful hosts

We holidayed with 2 teenage girls, who had the freedom to roam the acres of parkland the property sits within. The girls enjoyed themselves immensely, with a little help from the children of the owners. A special mention for the hammock, which became a firm favourite. David and Katie were very warm, friendly and extremely helpful, giving us lots of ideas of what to see and do. The canoeing is a must, along with horse riding. The fresh eggs and vegetables picked/collected fresh on the day, were truly scrumptious and well received. Facilities were superb, both inside and out. A delightful tranquil and restful holiday in an amazingly quiet setting, we will be back soon. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Bourgale: it’s just magic! You feel at home from the very first moment you step through the door of this beautiful manor. You feel welcome. You feel the warm breath of love. Perfect Stay

The best holiday we’ve had in years!!

David, Katie and family gave us the warmest of welcomes at their beautiful home in Villefranche-du-Perigord. The house and surrounding land was so picturesque that it is hard to put it into words. You have to see it for yourself to truly appreciate the peace, serenity and beauty of the place. The garden was so pretty and the house had everything we needed, from a lovely tree swing for our daughter, to deckchairs and chilled bubbles in the fridge on our arrival. The house was fantastically equipped with a super cot for our youngest, games, dvds and bags of information on things to do in the local area. Everything was clean and extremely well maintained - we couldn’t have asked for more! There was plenty of outside seating for a shady lunch as well as a beautiful canopied area for sundowners in the evening, where you could while away the hours looking at the fabulous fields and flowers and listening to the gentle buzz of the bees and sound of the cicadas - pure heaven!!! The gas barbecue was brilliant and made cooking delicious meats from the local butcher each evening a very simple task!! The swimming pool was excellent - a fabulous size and depth for young and old alike to enjoy. There was a great set of inflatables and pool toys and the sun loungers were really comfortable. David and Katie really go above and beyond to make you feel welcome here and we loved every moment of our stay. The children loved exploring the fields and the woods, playing in the lovely lawned area in front of the house and visiting the geese and the chickens each morning. This truly is a place of paradise where you could quite happily spend a whole week relaxing by the pool or alternatively visiting the beautiful bastides, caves and villages in the surrounding area. Rural France at its best with the most wonderfully kind, friendly and welcoming family in this, the most beautiful of homes. Thank you for one of the best holidays we’ve ever had as a family David, Katie and family and hope to see you again!!!

Peaceful haven.....

Wonderfully located, quiet peaceful and yet close to the town and a great location for exploring the area. The property was very comfortable and well equipped. Dave & Katie we’re fabulous hosts, very friendly and great at suggesting places to visit. High recommend it and we hope to return!
