The Lodge is the former gatehouse to Spital House estate. It is all on one level and is bordered by woods on two sides and a large fully enclosed garden to the rear. There is an abundance of wildlife to see from the cottage and the fields to the rear have sheep, lambs and cows throughout the rear.

Excellent Holiday accommodation, very clean and well equipped. Perfectly situated in a beautiful country setting and easy access to Scottish Borders & Northumbrian coast. The host (Liz) is easily contactable for any queries, or issues that may arise. All the necessary information regarding the cottage is readily available and we would have no hesitation in making any future bookings with Spital House Cottages .Thank you Liz.

Peaceful relaxing stay at The Lodge.

Loved our stay, everyone very friendly, had a problem with the Loo which was sorted out straight away, lovely welcome pack on arrival.

Amazing location in the border areas of Scotland, lovely home, fully equipped with everything you would ever need, and more. Extremely roomy, good wifi, a welcome cake and Shortbread, the grounds are really nice, even has a table and chairs to sit under the trees in, only 10 minutes drive from Berwick, loved it.

We were surprised at how much bigger the lodge is when you’re inside . Very comfortable and everything we needed to enjoy our stay . We found that it was easy to get to all the places we visited. We would definitely return.

Very comfortable and clean cottage. It had everything we needed and in a lovely, quiet location. The welcome basket of honey and cake was a lovely touch and milk in the fridge. Would definitely stay again.

So peaceful and cosy, with added extras, like a welcome basket, and electric blankets!! as the nights were chilly I'd recommend the Lodge to anyone, and there are two holiday cottages at the end of the estate too, next to the Hosts big old house. Lovely garden, trees and fields good parking too at the side of the Lodge. We loved it!
