About the property

One of three properties in the collection, this gorgeous former sweet shop is brimming with character and charm. It has been beautifully restored but still retains its original features to create a cosy home-from-home for families and groups of friends. Enjoy plenty of indoor space to relax and unwind, four stunning bedrooms and a pretty garden with a hot tub. Should you wish to explore the area, Minehead Beach is a 15-minute walk away for fun days out at any time of year or scenic strolls with your four-legged friend (excluding summer months).



If you love the sound of this place but need more bedrooms, the cottage can be booked as a combination of two or a collection of three with Thatch Corner and Exmoor Barn via our Guest Services team.


The space

Step inside this delightful, thatched cottage where ancient wooden beams and exposed stone walls blend seamlessly with the newly renovated and modern fixtures of the abode.



Step through the powder blue front door and into the hallway where you will notice a corridor that is lined with artwork and posters that hark back to its time as a sweet shop. The character does not stop there as the living room boasts an original stone fireplace with a wood-burning stove, three sumptuous sofas, window seats, and a Smart TV (complete with Sky and Netflix). A bookcase offers reading material for guests of all ages.



Next door, the open-plan kitchen/dining room combines characterful charm with modern chic. The natural light floods through the abundant windows and perfectly complements the light and airy theme. The kitchen provides all the essentials to self-cater with ease including a range-style dual fuel oven, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster and Nespresso coffee machine. . Meanwhile, the large dining table is perfect for socialising over a home-cooked family meal.



There is also a utility room with a washing machine and a tumble dryer, an additional fridge/freezer, then through to a separate shower room and WC.



There are four beautifully decorated bedrooms, each named after traditional sweets and equipped with premium soft furnishings. On the ground floor, there is a four-poster, king-size bed with an en-suite shower room, plus a double bedroom. Upstairs, there is a king-sized bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with a roll-top bath and a twin bedroom with an en-suite shower room.



Outside, you will have access to an enclosed private garden that has been landscaped to perfection. There is an eight-seater table for alfresco dining, a summer house and a luxurious hot tub for those warm summer nights. Garden furniture seats eight for al fresco dining.

Two travel cots and two highchairs can be provided. Please bring your own cot bedding.



Please note, the property features some low doorways.



Deposit: Bookings are subject to a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the booking value plus applicable booking fees with the balance payable 60 days before the date of travel.



Accidental Damage Deposit: To maintain the highest standards in our properties, guests will need to pay a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £250 prior to their stay. An advance payment as detailed in the booking summary can be made to waive this requirement.



Book with confidence: If your booking is affected by new Government travel restrictions which were not known at the time of booking, and you are legally unable to travel, we will arrange with the property owner to refund 100% of your holiday cost.
