Casa Roncati by Wonderful Italy

Bright and modern loft in the heart of the old village of Bellagio, a few steps from the pier, the bus station and the beautiful Villa Serbelloni.



The apartment, located on the second floor of a historic house in the historic center, has been completely renovated recently and consists of an open space environment. The living area is furnished with two sofas, one of which can be converted into a double bed, a coffee table, a cabinet with TV, a dining table, a peninsula with stools and a fully-equipped kitchenette with a microwave, a kettle, a juicer and a toaster. The sleeping area, located on a mezzanine, consists of a bedroom with a queen-size bed, a closet, a dresser and an armchair. The layout is completed by a bathroom with a spa bath that can also be used as a shower.



*The apartment is located in the ZTL area, therefore we suggest leaving the car in one of the nearby parkings and enjoying the old town on foot.



*Upon arrival or a few days before arrival it may be required to pay a tourist tax, which varies according to local regulations. You will find your reservation details within the Guest Area of Wonderful Italy.



Lake Como offers some of the most striking urban, landscape and architectural gems of the entire Italian peninsula. Among these treasures stands Bellagio, "The pearl of the Lario", a village of just over 3000 inhabitants on the northern end of the Larian Triangle, in which the two branches of the Lake are divided.

Among the most fascinating aspects of this village there are undoubtedly its charming villas, famous all over the world for their splendor and their manicured gardens. To mention some of them, Villa Melzi boasts many works of art and 18 km of paths in its garden, and Villa Serbelloni, today a conference center of the Rockefeller Foundation, features a wonderful garden as well. The old town, with its numerous shops located along narrow streets with steps, passages and arcades, is renowned all over the world and attracts thousands of tourists every year. The territory of Bellagio is vast and varied, you can visit the different lake hamlets such as Borgo di Bellagio, Loppia, San Giovanni and Pescallo, up to the top of Monte San Primo, reachable with a dense network of paths and itineraries for lovers of trekking and nature. Finally, Bellagio is well connected by boat to nearby villages such as Varenna, Lenno, Bellano, Menaggio, Tremezzo and Como.



The apartment is 1 hour and 25-minute drive from Orio al Serio Airport.

The unit has been remodeled and it is nice, but the staircase to the bedroom is very uncomfortable and dangerous at night. The bed barely fits the place of the bedroom, so I was bumping my leg against the bed leg all the time. The good thing about the apartment is that is located right on the heart of beautiful Bellagio, just be aware you need to climb up a lot of stairs on the street with your luggage. But the worst part was how unresponsive the property manager was. They just replied the WA messages when they wanted and bluntly ignored us where we were asking for other things. It never happened to us before such a bad customer service from a landlord. Terribly horrible, I would never recommend anybody to rent this place just because of that:

Absolute worst communication. Some calls were never answered, others took hours. Poor communication regarding how to get in the property. Sat in the rain for an hour trying to get help to get in the property

The apartment itself is really nice, just like the photos, but I feel like I had to take 2 stars off my rating. First of all, there are layers and layers of unnecessary communication. They kept sending me emails, WhatsApp messages non stop, I wasn’t expecting that, but without working WhatsApp there was no way to get instructions or check in, or pay city taxes. Mind you, my WhatsApp wasn’t working, because my sim card wasn’t working in Italy and I couldn’t log into my WhatsApp account. I had to call them like 5 times to try to update my phone number and ask them to send me instructions via email instead. For some reason, they were not able to, and kept trying to contact me on my home phone number which wasn’t working. I had to literally yell over the phone in the end. Without working SIM I wasn’t able to pay city taxes as well, because there was some sort of confirmation message with a code I was supposed to get from their website which obviously wasn’t working. Overall it was a lot of unnecessary stress they put me through. Until the moment I was standing in front of apartment, I wasn’t able to receive check in instructions because they kept sending them to my phone number which was inactive and they knew it. On top of that, that apartment had 2 ACs, but they kept turning off and I had to reset electrical switches multiple times. ACs were collecting condensation to a container that needed to be emptied EVERY COUPLE HOURS, manually. Inconvenience. Didn’t use it while sleeping

Beautiful Bellagio

The location and cleanliness of this property was wonderful. Very convenient to downtown, ferry, and bus access. We had some questions for the host upon check in. We had to go through the online chat to get a response to our questions. There were supposed to be 2 remotes for the two air conditioners but we only found one, which didn’t work. We were unable to turn on either of the AC units. It was quite hot during the day but cooled off nicely at night so we just opened windows. We did not attempt to notify host about this because of the relatively slow response time, the fact that we were only staying 2 nights, and it cooled off at night for some relief from the heat.

Leaves A Little To Be Desired

The interior is exactly as photos which is attractive; however, it needs several touches.A collection of usable pots and pans ( we cook ). Ice trays, instructions on how to use the HVAC. We struggled with how to heep our electrical adaptors secure in place for charging. The patio and stairs to second floor were in desperate need of power washing. Apple Maps doesn’t take you directly to the apartment. We required help in locating from a local. The trek up to the top of via is formidable and is laden with rocky stone sidewalks. I recommend backpacks only for this destinatiom, no luggage.

Great little find!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Casa Roncati, and the pictures on the website were very accurate. The apartment was in a wonderful location, easy walking to ferries and the town of Bellagio. The Wonderful Italy staff was very responsive to any questions or need for assistance. The only warning - the bedroom is in a loft and the apartment is a 3rd floor walkup which did not present an issue for us, but it is something to take into consideration if you have difficulty with steps.

We had a wonderful stay at casa roncati. The location is absolutely on point. Just steps away from all you want to go… the restaurants, lots of stores, ferry port, villa Melzi, salita Serbelloni. Definitely a hidden gem! I will come back.

Perfect Location, Impossible to Sleep

The location of the property is what initially drew us to book. However, the furniture is absolutely outdated and the upstairs bed (which is up a very steep staircase in a loft) was broken. When no one was sitting/laying on it, it was at most five inches thick and full of uncomfortable springs. When we laid down to sleep the first night, we discovered a huge hole in the right side of the mattress/springs and when laying on it, the mattress became 1 inch thick. Absolutely unacceptable. When we contacted the property on night one, they offered us the pull out couch. We declined because we paid for a bed. Despite that we declined, someone entered the unit without informing us and made up the pull out couch. We had a three night stay booked and had to leave after night two because it was impossible to sleep. The management company stated they would provide a “discount” because they were unable to replace the mattress or find us an alternate unit. It’s now been 2 weeks and they have failed to respond. Disappointed.

Via Roncati 2 Loft (Bellagio)

The loft was spacious and conveniently situated within walking distance of the ferry ports and main road. There were two HVAC units for the space so temperature remained comfortable. The front door is like a bank vault; very secure. The only issue was the furniture was not comfortable or clean but we spent very little time inside.

good location in Bellagio, challenging to find and many steps to walk from water front to apartment. Important to know for first time visitors to Bellagio! Plenty of room for a family of 4, nice kitchen and bathroom, fully furnished. The check in contact was responsive when we had questions.
