Hello, I’m Dr Beatrice Kumwenda Chisenga, I come from Mzimba District in in the Northern region of Malawi, a Ngoni culture region. From rural Mzimba, I was selected to attend University to train in Nursing and Midwifery at Kamuzu College of Nursing. From there, I went on to marry and mother 3 children, taking my family and career to the United Kingdom. In Manchester, England I practised as a nurse for 20 years whilst furthering my education to receiving a Doctorate with a focus on “Enhancing rural drinking water in developing countries.” I have now returned home and work in Malawi as an expatriate in rural drinking water projects. My goal is to develop the rural (real) Malawi that raised me, and to demonstrate that an orphan girl for a rural patriarchal society can contribute just as much as anyone else. It’s with my passion for rural Malawi that Walinase Lodge & Apartments is located in the rural part of Lilongwe. It’s in a village setting allowing guests to eat rural Malawi foods and do village tours to experience how an average rural Malawi family lives.

Outside each apartment, there's a summer hut, garden, and driveway. With shared amenities for all 4 houses being the swimming pool, wifi, restaurant, bar, laundry service, and airport/city-center pick-up and drop-off service. We also offer tour guide services to Malawi tourist attractions. We welcome businesses, families, and individuals. Businesses can also take advantage of our boardroom (20-persons capacity), printer, projector, wifi, event tent/marquee (75-persons capacity), and many other business provisions.

Step outside the gates of Walinase Lodges to experience Kasiyafumbi village. Located 15 kilometers from Lilongwe city center, Kasiyafumbi is an excellent opportunity for guests to experience the real rural life of Malawi, whilst living in the outskirts of the beating heart of Malawi's capital.
