Vecchio Bastione - Sup. Duplex by Wonderful Italy
Cozy and bright duplex apartment with balcony, a few steps from Palazzo Biscari and the Cathedral of Sant'Agata in Catania.
The apartment is located on the first floor of a building with an elevator and spreads on two levels. The entrance opens onto the living area, consisting of a double sofa bed, a TV, a dining table, and an open kitchen complete with a microwave, a refrigerator, a kettle, and all the necessary cooking tools. Going up some stairs the loft boasts a sleeping area with a queen-size bed, a chest of drawers, a TV, and an ensuite bathroom with shower. An additional bathroom with a shower and a small balcony complete the layout.
*Upon arrival or a few days before arrival it may be required to pay a tourist tax, which varies according to local regulations. You will find your reservation details within the Guest Area of Wonderful Italy.
Catania boasts a beautiful historical center, listed among UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. Its architectural wonders, as well as the colorful street markets, the wild beauty of Mount Etna, and the crystal-clear sea of the coasts, will seduce you. Among the others, the Cathedral of Sant’Agata (the city’s patron saint), Bellini theater, the street markets, Via Etnea (Catania’s most important and scenographic street), the wonderful Monastery of the Benedictines (home to the Faculty of Human Sciences) and the Etna are worth a visit. It is impossible not to mention Catania’s culinary tradition, with its typical arancini (fried rice balls), the iris (fried or baked stuffed bombs), Olivette of Sant’Agata (typical sweets made of almond paste and colored in green), and the famous brioches with granita. For horse meat lovers, Via del Plebiscito with its typical street embers is not to be missed. You can already smell the delicious aroma even from a long way off! An unmissable stop-over just outside the city is the coast, and more specifically the beautiful Gulf of Acitrezza, where in 1881 Giovanni Verga set his best-known novel, “I Malavoglia”.
Catania Fontanarossa airport is easily reachable with a 10-minute drive, while Catania Central Station is 1 km away from the accommodation.
