These single rooms are on the second floor and offer a comfortable single bed.

In-room features include a refrigerator, flat screen TV and tea and coffee making facilities. They also offer a wardrobe/closet.

The ensuite consists of a shower, toilet, towels and complimentary toiletries. Hair dryers are available on request.
Recently upgraded with new beds and freshly decorated, the Royal Ashton Hotel is in the heart of Taunton, just a short five minute walk from the train station, Somerset County Cricket ground and the town centre.

The hotel provides comfortable accommodation at great value starting with single and double rooms with access to communal kitchens, as well as a 2 bedroom self-contained flat at the rear of the hotel.

Surrounding Taunton, you can discover the delights of the Somerset countryside. With the Quantocks, Exmoor, Mendips, Somerset Levels and Blackdown Hills, there is ample choice to keep keen hikers, explorers and cyclists entertained.

An Eventful But Brilliant Stay

An absolutely brilliant stay in a wonderful location. Despite a couple of issues during the stay, the hotel staff were superb and accommodated me in an alternative room when an issue arose on the first night of the stay. The welcome at check-in was friendly and helpful with suggestions of places to eat in the area (about 15 minute walk to the centre of town) which I took full advantage of. Overall, would definitely recommend this location to anyone staying in the area

No frills, good value, good location, clean, had the facilities I wanted, very good.

I just wanted a nice clean comfortable room with basic facilities for my one night stay and this was perfect. The hotel is close to the railway station and in walking distance to the town centre with restaurants opposite. The staff were friendly. I’d definitely stay at the Royal Ashton again.

When I’ve stayed before I’ve heard a bit of noise in the night, from outside but in room 30 it was lovely and quiet. There was a small problem with the shower head, which I solved myself with a rolled up towel!

I greatly enjoyed my stay at Royal Ashton Townhouse.

The staff at the hotel were always very friendly and helpful. This was my first time visiting Taunton, and I was surprised by just how kind and approachable the local people were. The location is ideal - the shops, train station, bus stops, eateries, and supermarket are all within an easy walk. The room had good heating and was a comfortable place to spend two nights. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to thank the staff there, so I hope this review goes some way to showing my appreciation.

I have Stayed at the Royal Aston Twice in the last few week. Close to station and town centre. But the main thing Fantastic staff and helpful. First time stayed upstairs. On arrival on Tuesday as I struggled with stairs. It was no problem offering me one on the ground Kind Regards Gerard CAULFIELD
